Yea, no way it is going to substitute either CDJ-2000s or good DJMs.

A lot of people don’t use serato or even any DJ software. So you need to have the basics flowing before adding something like this controller, it can’t substitute the club standards.

It is probably the most awesome controller ever though.

Yes I forgot mention that one detail. They could have CDJ2000’s plugged into it to keep CD/USB users happy. But as you said this would start to add up to a pretty expensive setup.

I’m surprised they added in turntable support. I would not want to use this with DVS vinyl. Just my opinion but that is some serious distance between your turntables haha.

could a left field idea but i kind of feel this is more trying to take Rane out of the equation as the hardware for Serato.
The last Rane mixer that was like a club standard was 57 and that got cut with the upgrade to SDJ.
Yes you have the SL box but why need to bring a box when you can have the 900 SRT.
And just incase you were ever curious about switching to cdjs but didn’t want to cash out money to get cdjs now you have a (relatively affordable setup.
I dont see people just dishing out the TT for cdjs and Serato but this seems to be tempting.
So this is more about Pioneer making sure that there as much of their products out there than anyone else.

So what’s the price on this? i’ve seen $1399, $1599 $2399 and 1999€. Can anybody shed a light?

There are a few ways I can think to design a DJ box setup where that would not be an issue except for scratching.

I see this as an ideal install rig in a bars/clubs where the club is able to dictate the software/hardware to the DJ - think Discobars, stripclubs, restaurants etc … maybe not Pasha (yet) but there are a million other venues where it would be an ideal unit.

I had to say no to many-a-gig because I was playing vinyl and there was only CD players installed.

Believe it would be around the $2399 mark based on the Euro/Pound price of €1,999 / £1,749 - although thats probably be RRP as opposed to street price so I’d guess $2k

I mean you could see it in a club with a venue computer attached to it… then you could rock up with a USB and just play or if you wanted to use your own laptop it’s got two USB ports…

Dunno if that’ll happen but it could work for a lot of places… maybe have two TTs next to it.

Unlikely but still I like it a lot. Defo think Pio and Serato have come together and are looking like a strong pro controller choice again.

Both brands working together bringing out gear like this gonna make a lot of people who sniffed at controllers before start to think. That started with the SX but this is another level.

I think the super high end stuff also helps shift the lower end stuff anyway.

Like not everyone can afford the Issey Miyake couture but you can get the perfume (or Pio SB).

It’s a strong line of controllers for sure.

Not going to happen as you can’t analyze songs in Serato DJ when controller is connected. so you turn up with a USB stick with a bunch of un analyzed songs. auto loop/roll, Slicer, BPM (grid) oriented FX won’t work because they rely on the analyzed grid. but the second scenery is possible because you can download Serato DJ and analyze you collection of songs and when connected to controller at club your ready.

Actually, Serato analyze tracks which aren’t analyzed yet on the spot. Will take you 5-10 seconds but you get the point

Jesus that’s a big controller.

Kind of makes me want a Bozak and a pair of turntables, keep it simple.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. All the best controllers are aimed at Serato.

This is so ridiculous. What Traktor controller is this even competing with? No one is leaving their S4 to buy this thing. And, it’s not just about the controller. The software is very important to most people. I can do EVERYTHING I need to do with my Traktor DVS system and an X1 and F1, literally. There is nothing limiting me right now. I don’t sit around and wait for a controller that can FINALLY do all the things that would make my workflow better. What are you missing? What can’t you do right now with current controllers? Sure, Traktor could benefit from some new controllers, but their absence is not going make Traktor “DONE”, as you say. This unit would be wasted on me and many other DJs, even if it was given to me for free. Forget about convincing someone in my situation to pay $2000 for it.

The End Of The World Is Nigh.:joy:

Sell your Traktor-related gear now before it loses its value.

Huh? It analyzes it instantly when u load the track in…

Quite a lot as I dont see 4 channels on a djm 250, or the ability for stored cue points to just strike the surface of differences.

sexy sexy. But your rainbows won’t get me this time, marketing department!

So if I understand this correctly, you can have 1 dj playing CDJ’s or Serato DVS (standalone mixer with 4 inputs) another using Serato DJ and another using Traktor (2 USB’s) without switching anything. You can always mount the CDJ’s above the controller and have 1200’s on the sides. This controller has 2 USB’s and the the soundcard is compatible with Traktor or VDJ. Wow, that’s slick.

As a traktor user i feel awful…
NI get serious and start working with pioneer or create something equal to the sx or the sz on your own
If NI continues like that she will become Hercules…

then I’m doing something wrong because for me it only anilizes the waveform and I can’t use the slicer on it and loop roll are not quantized.
