No. Choice which i can honestly not understand. Had they put a central CPU, processing power could’ve been shared, making the whole thing not need 3 cpus as in a 2cdj+djm set but only one. Therefore it wouldn’t have been a great added cost. But pioneer chose the non-standalone option. This is why this controller will probably never be a “club standard”
I would’ve bought this without a second thought had it been standalone. I’m not a controller user, so this to me is just another controller. Would’ve been very nice to have included that feature.
in standalone it’s a standalone mixer so it works as a mixer without a computer. but for the purpose of a standalone mixer it’s not something to get. It’s like having a mixer + 2 not working CDJ’s in a flight case.
Well if size didn’t matter: the price value is damn good given that a DJM 900 SRT costs even more than this thing.
Unless you want to use Serato + turntables (which obviously isn’t a very popular choice), you’re better off getting a 4-channel mixer. Also, if you want cue points, just get one of the other options.

Forget the people saying no, as the answer is YES. You can use it without a computer however you would need CDJ’s or turntables as only the mixer is standalone. The CDJ-style parts are only midi-controllers. Everything besides the sampler on the mixer-part are standalone.

The standalone mixer functionality is there to supplement the MIDI control, not substitute it. You cannot use the SZ effectively without a computer.
yes you can hook up 2 cdj’s and you have everything you get from 2 cdj’s + DJM800 except the FX part. thats effective use for most. But I would not do it unless my computer broke.
This is correct sir. However, due to the oscillator and the kind of colour-FX you have the most important FX covered when you find yourself with a defective laptop and analogue input only

From the comments it looks like he is either a beta tester or a product specialist and has been sent a pre-production model.
From my understanding of NDA’s (I’ve signed many) I’d assume he was in for a bollocking from someone.
