Quality Control - His story of the Studio/DJ rig.

Here is my rig. The cabinet is made up of two Ikea cabinets put together with feet. I have also added frosted glass doors with accent lighting inside. 32" LCD and 22" LCD round up the setup with a workstation that I won at work from a silent auction which I use for DJ and Production.

DJ:

  • Xone DB2
  • Native Instruments Kontrol X1 MK2
  • Numark TTX
  • Native Instruments Traktor Pro 2 + Scratch Pro 2
  • Mid 2010 Macbook Pro 13" with solid state drive

Production:

  • Maschine MK2
  • HP DC8200 workstation with Ableton, FL Studios and Native Instruments.

Have in my possession but need to be setup:
2 X Denon DN-S3700

Recently purchase:

  • Zomo MC1000 with PMK-3 Mounts
  • Ableton Push (the picture above will be my production cabinet as I hope to build an ikea solution for standup DJ’ing)

Things I will be buying:

  • Ableton Push
  • Another X1 MK2 or maybe the CMD MM-1 and PL-1

You’ll love the Zomo. It’s the PERFECT compliment to a timecode set-up (add some Dicers and you’re golden!

A little bit of everything. I like my tech house. I like Jungle/DNB and I mix a little old school reggae too!

But there is nothing I won’t play!

I like the DB2, my question is, can you control the Traktor internal mixer with DB2´s faders & EQ internal over midi?

This week I have decided to say F.U. to everything and spend the money to build a nice Ikea DJ Booth/Desk/Work station.

I have my design in my head and it will be pretty standard with the expedit book shelf, linnmon table top and lack shelf on top. A couple of monitor stands and I will be set.

I will post pictures once everything arrives and I put it together.

Whats the picture on the mixer buddy ? Is it just a transfer skin ?

Is that the logitech z5500s you are using? We have them wired into our lounge and I always hook my setup into them for our house parties (normally just use KRKs when mixing for myself)- they are amazing on 4x stereo and the sub certainly packs a punch for it’s size.
