So I got a question
are there any producers in here ?
if so have you guys used an akai mpc ?
and if you have is it easy to use ?
i haven’t really used one seen one in action, its just like any hardware or software it takes time getting used to it and learning it, but if you sampling the mpc is king next to the asr-10 of course but thats another thread.
i would say go to your local guitar center or sam ash and check it out.
i do produce. i’ve messed around with a friend mpc a bit, but that shit’s oldschool man. I wouldnt recommend going that route.
what you want is a laptop and a midi control with pads. try out the m-audio trigger finger.
then you need an audio daw app, start with FLstudio or my personal choice Orion Platinum. http://www.synapse-audio.com/
both softwares come with a sampler that you can control with your midi controller for a similar experience to an mpc-1000 , but the freedom/power of newer technology/

I have a MPC2000XL (it glows in the dark! lol) … It’s a quality piece of kit, and I love it.

Nope. I don’t really see what it (or it’s successors) can offer that a good piece of software and a nanopad/similar doesn’t solve for far less.
Correction: They don’t look nearly as kick-ass
