I’ve recieved controller traktor S4 today (Order #100000465). I’ve opened the box and connect it to my macbook pro. I think S4 that I’ve got has some problems with led indication of the top side of controller (fx1, fx2, main level out). All buttons work, but every led of the button is still the same (red or dark), when I push it. Main level indicator also indicate in wrong way. I saw turning on process on youtube. When I turn on controller it indicates wrong. Sometimes leds start to flash without any commands. I make some videos.
I installed the latest driver. My s4 have some defects?
i’ve tryied with AC just now and i took off transportation slicks from jogs. - it is still the same problem. while changing brightness at traktor preferences - all leds become brighter or darker except leds of top section.
I’ve already tried with Traktor Pro 2.0.3. Result is the same,
same problems as you saw at my video. My traktor activates. I also instaled last drivers for mac. But i still have same problems with 2.0.3 version, as I had at version from disc.
Also I tried to plug AC, change usb cable and tried to plug s4 to another usb port, but nothing changes… The light indication
of fx buttons not working when i pushing it. (as on my youtube video)
I’ve already contacted with NI support, we tried many manipulations, so NI agreed that controller is defective. (by the way i’m from Russia)
There is an obligation “If a product breaks due to manufacturing
defect, we will replace it” on djtechtools store website (Returns + Shipping Policies – DJ TechTools).
Also I’ve read djtechtools policies (Policies & Returns – DJ TechTools).
So at the day when I recieved this defective controller I contacted with djtechtools and ask them to send me Return Authorization Form during their policies. I want you to know, that they are really slow in communication about return. At first they tried to dump me off to NI. Then when I reminded about their obligations and policies, they some kind of agreed. But they havent send me Return Authorization Form (without it they dont make the returns) yet (9 days left since I wrote them first time). So they just waste my time!!! I’m not even sure that they will return me 75$ for shipping controller back to them as they promise in policies. If this unpleasant problem is not solved at these few days, I will write about it at every dj forum, blog, site to warn potential customers about dealing with djtools.
normally they dont need that long.. the guys at the store (especially zach) help you a lot. they just dont have enough capacities to respond the emails within a few hours.
it might be better to ship your controller to NI itself (germany) than to the US, depending on where you are in russia it might be closer/wont take that long to ship..
Shipping of s4 from USA to Russia took 13 days. Zach has already waste 9 days. I’m not asking about the advise where will be better to send controller, to Germany or to USA. I want to return it to store, where I bought it. Ectually guys from store were much more helpful and fast when I communicate with them about buying the item. And I don’t ask about responding the email within few hours, but I think 2 letters (without any useful information) for 9 days is not enough.
The guys at the store have always been excellent with me and responded to any issues in great time. The service you seem to be receiving though is not acceptable. Hope it is just a glitch and they sort it out quickly for you!!
