I used to connect to ustream using just my macbook. The way I done it which may not be correct was took rca out into 3.5mm jack and plugged that into my mic jack. I didn’t have the need for external speakers as I’m unable to turn my music up at night anyway so just use my headphones.
If you want sound for external speakers as well you will probably need some kind of splitter cable
Got all the cables for this last night. Works like a charm:
Dual 1/4" to RCA going from the balanced out on the S4 into my monitors. (<–got this cable at guitar center for 6 bucks)
RCA to 1/8" going from the RCA out on the S4 into my laptop. (<-got this cable off Amazon for $2 free shipping).
Works like a charm, and it’s a lot easier than pulling your hair out trying to figure out a software solution to the issue, which is what I did initially.
Y’know, I tried using soundflower on my macbook, and followed the directions (to my knowledge) step for step, but it still wasn’t sending any signal to UStream. I just said screw it and got the cables. It was all less than 10 bucks at ye olde guitar center, and it works like a charm. Either way works, I guess.
Can some of you guys hop on there and tell me if the video is jumping around, most notably during the transitions between songs? I was using LiveStream’s app, and I’m wondering if it’s hogging resources or bandwidth or something. Given my internet speed, and my computer’s specs, I don’t know why it would be either…I’ll try it directly out of LiveStream’s website, as opposed to the external app and see if it makes a difference, tonight…
Hello! I do this but I am still getting no sound even with “line-in” selected on uStream. I can verify in my macbook sound preferences that it is receiving audio… Why won’t it work when I select it in programs or uStream???
