Scratch Fader decision.....help!

Scratch Fader decision…help!

Hey everyone!

I need some help deciding on a a Scratch Fader.

I will be modding it into my APC80…so the APC40 essentionally.

So the 2 choices I have at the moment are:

  1. Pro x Fade
  2. Innofader Pro\ Innofader

I have gotten some info from Ebsel in regard to the Pro X fades wiring and how I will need to change it for the connector on the APC40…simple enough.

I guess it will be simple enough to figure it out. I know Padi has the PxF in his VCI100…and that was no issue installing.

So size is gonna be a factor…will need to leave the backdoor of the X Fader off..and thats fine. Its in a case.

My actual question I want to put to you all is:

What is the difference between these 2 faders…and do you have any other recomendations?

I like a solid feeling X fader…but it must be a smooth quick glide too.

I am not able to go to a shop to see if for myself…there are none here in CT that have such faders, nor do I know anyone that has one.

Thus..I have no clue.

Thanks!

I heard infinium faders are good, but I’m no expert.

Pro X-Fade is a Lexus
Innofader is a Bugatti

The pro x-fade on its loosest is still not that loose compared to the innofader.

If you want a Pro x-fade though I can sell you one for fairly cheap that came out of my aem-100i.

mmmm…i am leaning toward the Inno at the mo!

+1 on the Innofader

make sure you can fit an innofader in that device before you purchase it … there’s not a whole lot of space in there

Inno and pro x are 50k faders

If the apc is 10k… bad bussines… ¿no?

for my diy controller… I will buy a urei 1601 crossfader… it’s 10k fader

(sorry for my fucking english… i’m spanish hehehe)

Yes…obviously!

Not a noob when it comes to mods!

I have spoken to Elliot from Audio Innovate…and he has sent me the S4 schematics used for the design of the Innobender.

They have used this new trick to fit the Innofader in the DJM400 etc.

I just need to work out the angle that the Innofader will sit at.

OR…

I just need to make a new backdoor for the X Fader. (the panel that closes beneath the X Fader at the bottom of the APC).

Its in a case…so the latter seems to be the easiest cleanest way to do this.

So its either the Innobender…or the new backdoor.

I like the Pro x fade and all…but if you weigh the companies up together…Ebsel…Audio Innovate…I am leaning towards Audio Innovate.

There is much more support etc…

Innobender? You have pics?

Not according to the guys at innovate…

GENTLEMAN…GTS…I sing that song all DAY at work.

GOOGLE THAT SHIT!

Its just an extension to the stem. Elliot Marx is so fucking helpful!
I mailed him and he got back to me within like an hour.

INNOFADER LETS YOU ENJOY SCRATCHING ON THE DJM-909, DJM-400,
AND EVEN LOW BUDGET MIXERS
January 14, 2010, Anaheim California: Audio Innovate now makes it even easier to upgrade to an Innofader and even make adjustments to the Innofader from outside the mixer.
Many users of low budget mixers like the Numark M series and Vestax VMC mixers originally had to upgrade to a VCA mixer to enjoy the benefits of a great crossfader. With the Innofader Pro coming in late Spring of 2010, DJs will now have the option of upgrading without the need to hand solder or modify the mixer. And for DJs who had mixers that required mods to work with the Innofader, the Innofader has enough flexibility so it can be wired to virtually any mixer with special circuitry.
DJM-400 users anxious for an Innofader solution now have a solution for mounting the Innofader at a 90 degree angle to fit in the tight space.
DJM-909 and DJM-707 users looking for a lighter fader now have the Innofader DJM-909 version as an option.
For both current Innofader Classic and future Innofader Pro users, the days of constant opening and closing the mixer to get things just right are over. The Innojuster plugs in outside the mixer and hooks up to the installed Innofader. The DJ can do cut-in, curve, and reverse adjustments directly to the Innofader itself, even if the mixer doesnt have these controls. The DJ can also recalibrate the Innofader to get things perfected if they drift.
The DJM-400 kit will be available in quantities over the next few weeks. Samples of the Innofader DJM-909 version, Innofader Pro, and Innojuster will also be available during this time, with mass production scheduled for late Spring.
So just to bullet point this for you:
The Innofader Classic is what currently exists and fits a wide range of mixers, some with a degree of manual hackery.
The Innofader Pro attempts to be compatible with every mixer on the planet, including my Dualit hand blender.
The Innojuster is a small external adjustment box that sticks to the outside of your mixer and fits via ribbon to the Innofader.

really?

Nope…was just fucking with you…

YES REALLY!

Check it out for yourself!
