Scratch Samples in Traktor

Scratch Samples in Traktor

so you scratch dj in traktor?

what do you use to scratch with?

a one shot on loop?
a sample record recorded into mp3? (possibly cue points?)
random bits of song?

just wondering how you handle the disadvantage to time code, no physical labels…

I scratch with digital battle record .MP3 or I made my own custom scratch sentences in Audacity.

I use cue point stickers on the record.

When I scratch inside of Traktor I use battle mp3s or any nice loops I have pulled from tracks. Usually find myself scratching vinyl over time code tracks.

I need to make some custom scratch tracks.

just a thought, do you think puttin samples into ableton, or FL, or Audacity and saving it would be a good way to go?

Yep, I just use Audacity and they sound fine. I also use Audacity to record battle/break records so I use Traktor.

where do you buy yours from? I am practicing on how to scratch and want a few samples to use. (at least the classic ones)

Yes.

TSP actually has a bunch of the classic samples as part of their…well…sample sounds. I only found this out when re installing the other day. I also started playing around with layering the “Ahhhh” sample. You can get it here.

When a scratch DJ, always have a copy of Superseal at hand both digital and vinyl.

Don’t forget about dj rectangle’s records.
