serato or traktor?

Can anyone comment on the current stability of Traktor?

I’m currently using TP 2.1.3 with a Vestax VCI-400 EGE on a late 2011 13" MBP.
No stability problems whatsoever.

2.5.1 on 10.8.2 running on a mid 09 13" mbp, no issues.

Serato. It seems to be the standard around my area. Major plus being a Rane product.

+1

Traktor for now will be trying the new Serato DJ next month when I get the DDJ SX

yeah i quite fancy the new pio controller to , using traktor just now with my vci-400 am only mixing with 2 decks and i hate the effects especially the filter sounds gimmicky i think… anyone know if you will be able to record your sets in the new serato?

Serato, their control vinyl is better. And since all I use from either party is the control vinyl that’s all I care about :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

xwax fo lyfe

I didn’t vote. Where’s the option for “other”?

Rane doesn’t make Serato, just the mixers to make Scratch Live work. That said you can call Rane for software support for Scratch Live.

I’ll remember that when I have a problem. Until then, my Serato has been solid like a Rane product should be.

Serato is a company, not a product. And they are not owned by Rane.

I would consider trying out Serato DJ if there was a way to keep all of my cues, loops and grid markers.

welll here is a video that i used to determin wht software andalso serato is a bit plain to me…theres not enough fx and theres not much to it on screen. i like how the layout of traktor looks…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTj-L7EKCL8

Saaaay what? SSL is far better than Traktor visually, multiple layouts and they are all better than TPro :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For simplicity and easy set up, SSL. For more complex program, features, effects, midi maps, TSP.

I personally use TSP because I have more option especially with my set up. Analog + digital.

this is what i meant about the layout of things and what there is to traktor…[quote=“Nicadraus, post:35, topic:48174, username:Nicadraus”]

Common misconception, that. Scratch Live is the software, made by Serato (Serato Audio Research, NZ).

SL* audio interfaces and enabled mixers are produced by Rane (Rane Corporation, US).

As for the poll: different strokes. Prefer Traktor when using MIDI, otherwise use SSL as my DVS.

Seemingly, had a few random shutdowns when using Traktor but never an issue with SSL (though even on the Serato forums they say nothing beat 1.9.2). I must be doing something wrong that I can’t seem to break it…

Looks like traktor is winning!:d

…considering most users here are traktor users…not surprising

This is a bit of a bias site :stuck_out_tongue:
