I’m still laughing.
Me too.
Oh - it hurts!
OP… Themz be fightin wardz
That is SOOO much better than the standard ‘/thread’ comment. bravo.
Haha that is so hilariously true. Whoever made that rule is a moron, this truly gets in the way of progress. People can’t just do what works for them because it may be considered easy, or “not real.” Let’s face it traditional DJing is to a degree easy (blending from a to b). I think old dinosaurs are afraid because they’ve gotten so comfortable getting away with making an easy job seem so difficult. Now that the technique is readily available they’re upset, but its because they didn’t evolve.
FYI, 15 years ago, those people were still considered boring to watch. I could state a legit gripe, but lets get over the circular argument.

what my sig says
You are just loving that aren’t you!
it is… however, this would have to be one of the top 3 repeat questions on the boards here (the other 2 being “should i get a vci100, or..?” & “how do i connect my ____ to my ____?”).
i dont think it would take ‘hours’ to find a bevvy of information using the search button on the forum’s toolbar. seconds, yes.. hours, no..
however it may take ‘hours’ to read through all the threads and posts on the topic. ![]()
The clue you should be looking for if you think it might be a repost is when you search the title of your thread and there are over 100 results. Just so everyone knows for next time.
amen!
I couldn’t disagree more, but such is life. My experience with it so far has been great…using the drum rack, tapping in my own beats…been great fun so far.
**as a DVS mind…using a straight controller, Traktor would be my choice.
Don’t rag on him for not using the search, since Serato 2.0 some things have changed, peoples opinions are changing forums can have new topics. Two weeks ago I bought a Rane 68 jumping head first into serato and here is my traktor vs Serato feelings after 2 weeks.
Serato- is hard to train wreck on it has an almost auto pilot feel you will never have a track jump pitch 20% by pressing a button. The decks will load and play themselves, and only change tempo when you do it on the pitch fader. Looping is hard to activate, and you have to mix by ear.
Traktor – has better looping and is easier to activate loops, it also has a sync button, but you can activate a loop and the pitch will jump and your mix is fucked. I found I was able to trust the sync 90% of the time. I would describe traktor as more deck focused 80% of screen real-estate is deck information, while in serato 50% of your screen space is decks and 50 % is files.
Rane- I thought when I bought the 68 I was buying a Rane product, but its really more like a serato product, all files, drivers, information, and support are provided by Serato by people with @rane email address’s The 68 windows 7 asio drivers are not working for me, and I would expect to find these on the rane site, but they are stored deep in the serato forums.
The Bridge- was a major reason for my switch, and it won’t work on my 64 bit windows 7 machine…being on the bleeding edge sucks after speding 2000+400 on ableton I really wanted this feature and can wait a few more weeks for it to work.
I think when the sl4 comes out, serato is going to give us more midi control over decks 3 and 4 or c and d because having 4 fucking turntables is just absurd in 2011, this is not 1980 and we can’t carry/afford 4 cdj’s or 4 tables.

Serato win in the Americas and most of Asia. In Euro traktor takes it.
he wasn’t being ragged on for not using the search, but if he did use the search and found out a few things about both products - he could base his question a little better.. ie ‘i mix genre blah and was wondering if the upcoming T2’s sample decks would work better for me, or would the SL4 and the bridge be better suited to my needs?’ or ‘how do you find traktor’s gridding/warping/analysing of tracks, compared to serato?’
asking a flat out generic answer isn’t usually going to get you far especially when it’s asked so often. i dont mean any disrespect to the OP at all.
by using the search and reading through a few of the already answered topics can give the asker of a question many of his needed answers - and if they dont they are more than welcome to ask about it.
Traktor seems to be more popular with pro DJ’s
I wont go into the long list. Serato has alot of commercial club DJ’s behind it because most of them are in there late 30’s and early 40’s they have been playing for a while.
Alot of older people arnt as tech savvy. So when they see serato where you just plug in and play. Well thats easy I will use that!!
With Traktor you need to setup your sound card. maybee change the layout. I would say out of virtual DJ, Serato and Traktor it took me the longest to get to grips with.
Traktor is my program of choice for audio it has the best features.
For video djing I would have to say serato
I’ll be 48 on my birthday. Maybe I should sell my Traktor Pro and go with the easy program since I’m too old to be tech savy. ![]()
haha way to go DJ subculture!
