Single Jog Wheel Midi Controllers?

Single Jog Wheel Midi Controllers?

Which ones exist out there?
SO far I’ve found:
Denon Sc2000
Dj Tech Kontrol 1
Reloop Contour
Behringer Pl1

What else is out there? Which ones have the best scratchability? And which jog wheel feels the most similar to that of a cdj 850/1000?

Xone 2D

I don’t think they’re made to scratch though. Then again, I’m a newb.

Numark v7

Guy who tried it at NAMM said that PL-1 jogwheel is in range with S4. Can’t wait to test it myself

When is it finally going to be released?? All those nice little Behringers have so much hype. Feels like forever even though I just started getting into DJing a month ago haha.

Can’t imagine how you guys feel.

They start shipping in March so my bet is beginning of April.

Eks otus.

I’m not a fan of the s2/s4 jog wheel. they f3el too loose while scratching.

dj tech VTT 101 or the CDJ 101.
the vtt has a crossfader, with curve, can be opend up and “credit card modded” for scratching
the cdj has a pitch fader.
they should cost about $70 apiece, and are excellent. they are still old-style jogs, not picture map, but super good at any price.
I always thought the ION discover dj would make a nice single jog controller. the jog’s sensors are right at the right and left edge of the single pcb in the unit. so if one wanted to, they could simple cut off one of the jogs, and have an awesome single jog, with extra mixer controls.
I havent had the chance to look inside the new behringer jogs, but they look very hanpin-ish. just ask nemonic; I’m sure he’ll be glad to describe what type they are and what their resolution is.

Xone D1, from what i have heard the denon is the best choice

The VTT 101 is pretty decent. Im thinking about grabbing one just to have around the house for our little one.

How is the jog wheel on the reloop? WHo has one?

I have, and it’s great. I wouldn’t scratch with it, but then again I wouldn’t scratch with anything other than vinyl (or a Numark CDX). I’ve seen DJ Angelo do some pretty sweet things with the Contours though, scratch-wise.

The Contour’s real strength lies in the FX section and Cue pads, plus the 5 different jog modes come in handy for track selection/searching/pitchbending without having to avoid touching the top of the jogwheel, etc. You can also remap it VERY easily for one-button Flux mode, simply by changing the default jogmode from deck volume control to scratching, and then using the “Scratch” mode for Flux.

Thanks for the tip mate. Im thinking about picking up one controller edition and one interface edition since theyre so cheap and remapping one of the knobs to adjust the tempo since the faders are so short. It and the Denon have been my favorite too researching so far.

I own a pair of DN-SC2000 and they’re really nice. Build is rock solid too. The only “con” I can say is the metallic top of the jog wheel, a bit slippery but no real big deal. Had to find a weak point somewhere huh?

Np dude; the best way to control pitch with the Contours is to map Shift + Jogturn in “Pitchbend” mode to control the tempo fader, you can get REALLY fine control over pitch that way, as well as make large changes without much effort

Thats a friggin awesome idea! Thanks bruv.
