skrillex going down the “burial-road”
hm…not hating on skrillex, but this one doesn´t sound to good to me. cheesy burial bits.
what do you think?

Doesn’t sound anything like his previous tracks at all…
I mean what is he trying to express here?
Is he giving up being a producer?
I guess the tone reflects it but it sounds nothing like what he produced in the past.
If this is a good bye track than this is one of the most forgettable I ever heard!
Hell it doesn’t even sound like he produced this track!
In terms of energy, if I were to play this at a party the entire mix will be derailed.
Its gloomy, depressing, no energy, this sounds like something you would play at a funeral! Pardon the french.
no problem with deep relaxed tracks at all and i actually respect him for trying something different. and yes it actually sounds like he produced it, cause it´s way to “pop” for being a deep melancholic track.
Some of the best tracks I heard in my life are quite depressing or grim but like earl said, this is way too poppy.
good for him for branching out… still sounds too clean and polished for this type of style, where’s the grit?
I’m just excited to see how this is going to piss off all his fans
exactly what i was thinking!
Well at least he’s the artist that doesn’t conform to what the fans expect from him…if that’s a good thing or not.
I still recall his rant on Twitter … “What the FOKK is a DROP??? Please stop saying that word!!”
I like this style. Definitely not what I’m used to or what I would have expected from him … But I loved “Summit” and played it out a lot. This is kind of like that.
Hate him or love him … his nerdy *ss can make some sexy ass noises when he wants to. And sexiness in general is tricky … It’s kind of a subliminal attribute. Some not so great looking people can surely be perceived as sexy just by how they are. I’ve never seen such an awkard looking creature … emit the kind of sexiness FROM HIS MUSIC (it’s present even in some of the harder stuff) than Skrillex does.
I don’t get that hyper sexy swag vibe from this song posted … But I would bet that he’s got a couple of bangers on deck.
Skrillex deserves respect for trying something very different at this point in his career, but I honestly don’t feel this track at all. It sounds like a shitty Burial parody (and I love Burial…).
Oh Great, he freakin’ killed Dubstep, and now he’s gonna’ try destroy UKG too…back off buddy!!!
seriously? killed dubstep? who? i heard it´s well alive and doing good so far.
In my opinion, today’s Dubstep (if you wanna call it that) that he makes is garbage, and it destroyed the popularity of what I consider to be good (or real) Dubstep. If you think Poppy Vocals, 140bpm Breaks fused w’ Electro-House stabs, enveloped within Mid-Range Bass are Dubstep, then you and I are on COMPLETELY different wavelengths!!
nope we´re not and i can tell that the “original” dubstep is well alive. like i already said. mala, tunnige, harry craze, goth trad, dmz, cyrus, thelem, substep infrabass, deep medi… all this stuff is still bigger in europe than the whole mid range stuff. well at least there are more parties with that kind of dubstep than the ravepartystyle…
Perhaps in Europe, but not in the America’s ![]()
Yup, we’re definitely not on different wavelengths…I love all those you mentioned. Deep Medi is probably my favorite label.
Regardless, Skrillex needs to fade into oblivion ![]()
I dislike Skrillex, but I have to respect him for getting results. With all the controversy surrounding the EDM scene and his music specifically though, I would have respected him more if he had stuck to the music he has been making. Not staying true to the expectations of your fans tells me that you have no respect for the music and you don’t take yourself seriously. You don’t see guitarists writing a country album, and then a punk rock album, and then a jazz album, I think that production is the same. You have to refine your style, you have to really portray your take on the genre, and that takes commitment. Sure it’s nice to step out once and a while, it’s good to expand your knowledge and abilities, but being all over the map just serves to blur the image that defines you.
Are you kidding? Why? Cause that’s what the masses say? You don’t think Kyoto was a good track? And I would KILL to have his talent, and perseverance. For someone to make it from literally nothing to superstardom? And he gets to make music as a career and gets to DJ under the largest crowds at the best venues? Fuck all the noise, i’d kill to do that any day of the week.
I didn’t listen to this track, but big ups to Skrillex.
Definitely a skrillex track…alot of elements that sound like his style. He is still progressing which is good, I feel like deadmau5 fell off when he tried to expand his sounds.
lolololololololol U WOT M8 ?
I don’t feel the track, it doesn’t move me BUT still massive amounts of respect for skrillex. I think it’s great that artists broaden their horizons.
That autotuned sample makes me want to jump off something really high.
You know sonny was in a screamo band that did pretty decent right.. He definitely didnt start out at the bottom.
