Thanks guys! @dani, yea man paul is a beast! I met him randomly while on holiday in UK. Really glad I did :stuck_out_tongue:

two thumbs up!
But what happened to the turntable/video at 5:20? Looks like a few frames skipped or something…no biggie just curious.

Glad you enjoyed it man! Haha looks like an editing mistake. I outsourced the editing for this one, but I should’ve caught that haha! Ryan did a number of takes which he sent me, looks like frames from another take have been pasted on at the end by mistake. He did some pretty cool stuff in this vid with his Z1 mapping, I’ll ask him if he can come in and talk about it!

Small trivial detail anyway…probably shouldn’t have even bothered to mention it. Maybe you could bring in some of the others or discuss the production

Sure thing! I basically took a number of Dirtybird tracks and chopped them up into individual notes. Then I took these individual notes from different tracks and created new songs by playing them together in different ways. The whole idea was to sample these tracks and create a completely new vibe with their pieces.

As for logistics: I had two instances of maschine open in ableton. The trickiest part is really just setting up the pages in a way that it’s comfortable to play and add variation. I relied pretty heavily on pad linking. Using the master and slave options is a pretty awesome way to be able to add extra sounds without having to press more buttons :stuck_out_tongue:

Around 1:30 I used the record function to create loops and add stuff on top, but besides that pretty much everything else was completely live.

Speaking of live, working with some of the live musicians was great. I gave each of them a general direction and then they recorded a number of different takes. I took the best bars of each take and put them together to create the final audio.

Great job again Izn! Let’s get together soon.

Agreed! Thanks for checking it out man!

Izn you should come out to the west coast and play some shows and maybe some festivals man. Im sure you would go off over here!

Hey man, I’d love to! The agency I work with is looking to set up a small Canadian tour, if you have any suggestions for promoters/clubs in BC I’ll definitely try to set something up. Thanks again for checking out my stuff, I really appreciate it
