So who else is pumped for coloured waves?

So who else is pumped for coloured waves?

I know I am. This is a very epic move, and one that will finally be the last nail in my Serato coffin.

What about all you Tpro users out there who said you prefer not to have coloured waveforms? Do you feel alienated now? Maybe there will be an option to turn colour on and off?

thats one feature i don’t really care for. Im not against it at all, Its just I have been spending so much time with my mapping trying to get away from the computer screen.

certainly doesn’t hurt to have the extra visual feedback tho

colored waveforms are only half the battle, need them to be side by side then I’m pumped

Must have the option, same goes for Show/hide the beatgrid. But even if I find the couloured waveform a useless feature I would give it a shot just for fun, then confirm I don’t need it because I know my tracks and how to match them without coloured waveform.

Same goes for side by side. I never find it usefull yet, probably because since 29 years being in DJ industry now, I know which track is off?

However, I could change my mind while testing it, time will tell.

couldn’t care less.

it ain’t that hard to use the phase meter, or mix by ear for that matter.

it’s a nice addition (that i won’t be using), but i’d rather take flexible grids for groovy tracks

yeah the phase meter only works with a beatgrid though.

and yes, ideally you should beatmatch by ear, but when you’re playing new tracks it’s nice to have the side by side waveforms serato style.

that’s my opinion at least

The phase meter only work with a beatgrid - or a flexible beatgrid

order of what i give a fuck about in order from most to least:

flexi no show grids

colored waves

full screen midi mapping

being able to go full screen on a 42 inch tv (i can only maximize, going full only covers 1/4th of the screen)

grabbing some food right now

side by side waves. ← thats how little i care

I’d like to get away from having to drop grids. AND having to beatmatch by ear haha

as I don’t scratch (wish I could properly) I don’t really care, for me it’s only an aesthetic point. But nice for all others if that suits you. Good move.

yeah, i assume most of the people against it are playing EDM, and thats fine. But when you’re dropping hip hop and dancehall etc I think it helps more than it hinders

so you would like to have tracks you just loaded beatmatched without any work at all and have them shown side by side because you don’t even know them to phrase or drop them?

IMO that is just being lazy

no, I know phrasing and all that. but say I dont feel like going through and beatgridding and dropping cues etc on all my tracks, once I have a bpm. drop it on the one, immediately know if im too fast or too slow, adjust accordingly.

i dunno, i just like that way better. I’ve been doing fine with TSP, but anything that makes it easier…

EDIT: and yes, I’m lazy, but it’s 2011 if I cant have my jetpacks and flying cars, at least let me beatmatch visually

Loving the coloured waveforms, and yeh +100 for flexi waveforms!

So excited!

I play only EDM.

IMO coloured wave forms are a MAJOR tool in assessing the dynamics of the track visually.

When you know that certain colours mean certain frequencies, and that the shade of that colour determines how dynamic it will be, you can tell whether a kick drum will come in STRONG or come in Meh. Or exactly how soft a breakdown is.

It’s not always easy to know all your tracks inside and out, especially when you update fresh material on a daily basis. Visual feedback for me is EXTREMELY important. At least its an edge up people who don’t find significance in it. If visuals were not important, we wouldn’t have screens for our Traktor. A simple example of how visuals are AMAZING in split second decisions that I’m sure many many people use is the implementation of Cover Art. Sometimes you need the visual feedback to connect the dots in your head, and find the right track in time.

+1 @pl>y

Im excited for it but its not gonna be side by side. if u want that go to serato

I am sure it will be a nice feature, but since I can’t see I can’t get to excited about it.
