I have been really getting into your 2.5 mapping but there is one thing I can’t figure out how to toggle.
I need to have the “soft takeover” function be reimplemented into my mapping.
In the original mapping of the VCI if you changed a parameter with your mouse, then wanted to change it with your controller it would only be recognized once it reached current settings in traktor avoiding a harsh jump in volume, eq, or any other parameter.
Common Example for me of issue:
In four deck mode:
Lets say I have tracks playing in decks A&B. I switch over to deck D to bring in a loop. I am now controlling deck D and bring the volume fader down to an acceptable level for the mix of the sample I just brought in. The problem arises once I switch back to deck B and want to turn the volume up a lil, it jumps down to the setting from deck D that was much lower and screws up the mix with a jarring change in levels.
Leon R. told me that he never needed to have this be part of the mapping but how else would you avoid the problem I am running into. Maybe there is a technique or way of dealing that I am unaware of.

Ok, I barely use 4 deck control and when I do I quickly move the volume line fader and do not combinate mouse and controlle(like you do)r to do so.
For example If I bring down the volume on deck a to 50% and switch to deck b the volume in traktor on deck b will be at max while my controller fader is still at 50%. If I then move the fader slowly the volume line fader in traktor will jump to 50% and move in the direction I am moving the controller line fader. To avoid that I can either quickly move the fader up to 100% barely hearing the volume jump or enable “soft takeover”.
With soft takeover (in my example) after switching to deck b I can move the volume fader up on my controller until it reaches the volume level in traktor (100% in my example) and then begin to control the volume the fader. If I were to switch back to deck a I would have to move my controler fader to 50% before being able to change the volume with the fader.
From what I understand you want soft takeover on the volume faders, right?

That is exactly right, soft takeover for faders and knobs is what I’m after.
I want to eliminate the use of my mouse entirely. I use 3-4 tracks quite often and this was the missing adjustment needed to have all necessary parameters of control for 4 decks without the assisted use of the mouse.

I have tried soft takeover out a few times…
I can see it working with the line faders but i often forget having eq knobs set or did not turn them far enough in the needed direction to gain control over the knob for the activated deck during a quick mix… I also hated constantly starring At the screen to see my EQ settings…
Soft Takeover setup: Not home at the moment so I can’t tell you how to set that up.
If no one posts the way to set it to the faders etc. untill saturday I will try to have a look into it if I make it home this weekend (business trip).

I appreciate the breakdown of why I wouldn’t want to use soft takeover versus wanting to and have a better understanding of how I would apply it if needed.
