Song editing programs for DJs

Yo,
Just wondering if a small program exists that lets you do quick edits (remove intros, add samples) and quantizes the track for easy use with dj software/cdjs

I know a lot of the bigger music programs do this, but hoping for something smaller and cheaper :stuck_out_tongue:
thanks

PS: im on windows

Sony Acid bro

I would install acid, but my computer no longer has a floppy drive
:stuck_out_tongue:

Lmao

Pretty sure you can do this in Audacity

yeah, Audacity is dope, but I dont quite understand its beat finder option, I rip a lot from vinyl and need help keeping it steady

My beat finders are my ears

Read the beats on the waveforms and count them in, the beat finder is messy as hell as is snapping to it.

Ableton lite would do do the fastest and cleanest job pretty cheaply, though you should be able to find someone who can sell you a copy of Ableton Lite for next to nothing or find a cheap midi controller with it bundled (well under $99)

There are tons of simple editors out there. But, in most cases there are only three that you need to consider.

Audacity. Free. Decent feature set, and reasonable manuals. VST support is confusing - effects are supported, instruments are not. It is just painful enough that I don’t bother. I teach a class on basic music editing and all the examples are with Audacity.

Reaper if you need a “full DAW.” Free but will nag after a trial period. It’s like $60 for a license for “hobby” use.

Ableton Lite. $100 from Ableton, or bundled with all kinds of hardware. You mentioned “quantizes the track”…I think you’re only going to find that feature in Ableton.

alright, thanks for all the replys. Will stick with Ableton
