Speakers for producing?

Speakers for producing?

Sup guys, I am on the market for some new speakers for production and bit of mixing at home. I’m currently running fl studio on some logitech speakers(lol) and decided its time to upgrade.

Most of the people I know have Rokit speakers, but they are pretty expensive for 150 single, so 300 for both pairs?
I’m looking to spend 100-300.
Side note, I’ve mixed with my buddies PA Speaker, attached to a amp and onto my mixer.
What would be a decent solo PA speaker and Amp for small house parties?

Alesis M1 actives

Buy cheap and you’ll buy twice!

Spend as much as you can, even if that means saving up and waiting a bit longer. KRK are really good value for money. Do you like using your friends’ KRKs? If so then you should probably get some.

If cost is such a factor, maybe look at getting some second hand.

Not sure where you’re at, but try to demo as many speakers as possible. JBL SLR305’s are same price as Rokit’s and getting rave reviews. There’s still some decent bass punch for DJ mixing, but they’re IMO way more accurate and clear than the Rokit’s. In fact, the Rokit’s sounded like absolute hell vs. all the other 5" monitors I checked out at guitar center.

Check out the monitors I have, M-Audio BX5.. I got em for $300 for the pair but I’ve seen em go lower nowadays. They sounded better than Rokits/Yamaha 5’s when I tested them.

A lot of magazines are raving about tannoy reveal range, I’m considering them at the moment.

For a PA on a budget you may want to look in to powered speakers, something like Mackie Thump, you can sometimes
get them really cheap on ebay.

Have a look at these!

I have the Behringer Truth B2030A, they $300 and give out a terrific well-balanced sound. You can check out the review here:

I have the same

I have similar devices too! Thanks for your input! A mix should sound good on all of the above listed. I have the Behringer Studio Monitors, Pioneer DJ Headphones and Logitech speakers with Sub.

Honestly my problem is getting a good mixdown with various elements of a track. I have reviewed several vids but nothing has quite helped me out.

i’ve got the Alesis ones, they’re pretty good, but i’d also recommend getting some good headphones as well because your room will most likely kill the true sound the speakers are going to give you in the first place.
