Stanton DJC4 - where did that come from ?

Stanton DJC4 - where did that come from ?

This one seemed to have snuck its way in under the radar at Musikmesse, apparently going to be under $350 and has a dedicated mixer and a 4/4 audio interface for DVS … looks shiny.

Forgive me if its been posted before.

remind me of a reloop jockey 2/ and those jogs look really siilar to the ddj-t1’s ? or is that just me

Wonder why they mirrored the fx section. Looks like a good contender for the competition in that range, let’s hope it’s decent.

jogs look really nice and looks pretty cool overall. not a bad price either… be interesting to see some hands on reviews.

its another oem… another name for it is the voxoa c60, which is already available from china, although this model is about $500 from memory, and this version has a 4in soundcard so you can plug in tables using vdj.

this is just speculation… but it looks like some of the same components as reloop gear, so probably made in the same factory.

Looks identical apart from the Jogs and buttons, think you are right even the glowing logo in the top center. And the stanton has the 4/4 soundcard as well and is designed around a custom version of VDJ so I’m guessing a complete 1:1 copy on the internals and faceplate.

Not a bad price given the specs.

Voxoa Seem to have rebranded a number of OEM products e.g. American DJ gear as well e.g. S60 = Versadeck, the CD players looks extremely familiar as well.

I got the Citronic MP-X10 (same as AA Versadeck, Voxoa S60 etc), and after a lot of research found that they are being built by Hanpin www.hanpin.com.tw

Hmm… they have removed some of their products from their pages since I last looked. Couldn’t see the Stanton thingy-ma-jig on there. Maybe another factory?

No, you were right. Hanpin makes it, along with the Reloop, Citronic, Voxoa, etc controllers.

where can one purchase this?

and when is the stanton releasing?

Hi
If you can live with google translations (or better , know some french) the guys at audio fanzine tested the “Audiophony” version of this controller… They liked it very much, even if they don’t seem aware that it’s a rebranded OEM product

All of these companies that have the same products just rebadged aren’t doing much in terms of engineering. They are simply buying off the shelf. A company like stanton though will go and tweak the mapping and feature set to be somewhat unique but sadly its still exactly the same product. It’s sad that people assume 1 brand developed and others copied when in reality the factory developed it and sold it to all the brands and cheap brands.

ill see if I can borrow one to check it out.

definitely curious if they upgraded it much. better faders or what not.

It’s cheaper than the voxia.c60, but it doesn’t have the same blue leds or jog leds. But nem0nic said this is made by hanpin who make reloop gear, I trust their stuff will be good quality, although this is a much lower price point, so may be recycled jockey 2 small buttons not the rubber one’s from the teminal mix series. But the rest looks like it’s taken from the jockey 3/contour; knobs, encoders, and the transport buttons all look the same.

Here you go: REVIEW: Stanton DJC.4 DJ Controller – DJWORX

This controller looks amazing. I’ll have mine arriving on tuesday.

Got my eye on one of these, let us know how you get on please?

Yes, This controller is amazing. I want to see a DJTT mapping and review. Best controller in the $250-$400 price range. Sound card is nice, not incredibly loud but nice clear sound and for sure good enough for professional use.

Knobs feel great, The EQ knobs double as buttons to kill the mid, low’s and high’s, they feel great and they respond well. Pitch faders could be better, but if you are using a controller and arent taking advantage of sync, you should probably be smacked.

The buttons are okay, Feel like toggles, but respond well to pressing enough for some more advanced routines. I do wish they were soft plastic buttons like the Tap, Cue and Play buttons.

I like the jogs alot, Not well enough for scratching… But you wouldnt be looking at the controller if you were a scratch DJ anyways…

The VDJ mapping is amazing. I didnt realize VDJ had stepped it’s game up so much with 7. If they can overhaul the effects, some sound processing issues, and maybe update the standard GUI It WILL be a major contender… It already is the most user-friendly software. After that all they’ll need to do is update their nazi prices. If you buy a controller for use with the program you shouldnt have to spend another $250 to get the full functionality out of something you already paid for… On a side note, The DJC 4 lets you control 3 effects per deck in VDJ.

Also, The Traktor mapping is awesome. What it does need is an effects section overhaul… But that’s the only complaint. Very hard to manipulate effects with their current mapping, but generally it works exactly the same as the VDJ mapping and i’m happy with it.

This controller has so many features, so many knobs, so many buttons… This controller needs to be the new standard in this price range. I was about to drop 100+ more for an S2, Which has half the features. This controller is like the Kontrol S4, Downsized with a two deck mixer, though it’s still easily capable of controlling 4 decks. It’s very, very powerful. All the controls you need are there, one way or another. If you are cool with mapping a controller, The sky is the limit. If you can’t quite afford to drop money on the a $500+ controller or want a controller that can grow with your skills, This is it. This controller is so versatile it can be used by any level of DJ. Enough features for people with ton’s of experience. Straight-forward enough for Newcomers, and it’s great for those who fall in-between. If you have any doubts, if you are purchasing a new controller in this price range, BUY THIS ONE. Nothing else compares, Nothing else has this many features.

I can’t see atomix dropping the price of vdj as they offer so many more possibilities than any other software on the market, and updates are free for life. But if you value the extra features you are in no way being ripped off as the full version unlocks more than buying an equivalently priced piece of hardware. Despite what anyone says about it’s reputation, VDJ is designed to be a professional software used by professionals to earn money, it’s not a bedroom dj consumer software that’s what LE is for. When I had my residency I was paid $250 for an hour set, decent mobile dj’s get between $1200 - $7000 per event depending on what they offer. considering that VDJ is the performance heart of the whole system that can control sound, video and lighting $300 is an incredibly small price to pay for such a powerful edition to any professional setup.
