Hey guys… I would like to know your opinion on what is the best option to sync when you want to do it with 3 or 4 decks at the same time:
a) use the masterclok and the auto sync?
b) choosing master on the current deck A, B, C or D that I would like to be in that time and the others would be slaves?
c) other better alternative?
I would like to read your experienced opinions… thanks guys
i see someone was checking out the banned thread. crossover action!
sorry man, i just can’t see it. it’s just owl, all day erryday! or maybe modeskeletor face.
also, sorry this wasn’t on topic so i’ll have to give this a shot if i start mixing 3-4 decks. i did some 4 deck mixing (briefly) and didn’t really have any issues with one deck being the master, and the rest following along.
When i use more than 2 decks, most of the time the third deck i use as a “bridging track” so to speak and the 4th deck i’d use for either samples or routing for recording.
Yes, this was my major doubt. It is one alternative I think…
A few days I was mixing 4 decks, only with masterclock and auto OFF, and in a moment 2 musics were not well synchronized! That was the reason of my post, maybe the masterclock wouldn’t synch the phase of the musics mixing more than 2 decks.
All four decks does sync to masterclok and if your track’s grids (same goes for sample loops) are right on beat trough whole track, then clock will do all the job. If your grids go off beat after some time in track it means your BPM isn’t correct and you need to manually adjust it (search youtube tut). BPM is more important that grid, if tempo is right you can always use pitch banding when beat matching.
