I was trying to sync Traktor and Ableton ala DJ Endo’s vid
Here:
But for some reason JackPilot wont recognize my coreaudio driver in my MBP.
Has anyone else had this problem? Or can anyone recommend an alternative to jackPilot?
Midi Yoke. MIDIOX
Crap, your on mac. Idk maybe you can make it work but the way I know how to do it.
After installing Midi yoke (if you can), You set up a midi device in the control manager in traktor and name it clock. have it send the midi information to midi yoke 1. Open up ableton and tell it to sync to the midi clock coming from midi yoke 1. Make sure its looking for a midi clock and not an MTC signal (even tough its so much better). Adjust your midi offsets accordingly. Under FX panel 1, click the play/pause button under the sync button to start sending the midi clock. Press play in ableton first, then click the external button in the top left next to the BPM counter. If you did things right, it should sync up.
The video goes into routing audio from Traktor into ableton. Thats where it my knowlege goes out. Currently, I’m running ableton on one laptop and traktor on another. I use a crossover cable between the two to make a network and a program called wacnetworkmidi to send the midi yoke signal over the network. I then route the master audio from Traktor and the master audio from ableton through a hardware mixer.
I’m pretty sure you don’t want to go about adding a second laptop to your setup. But if you did, I could see getting an external sound card for the 2nd laptop and route the audio from traktor in through separate inputs and do it that way.
thats what im doing. same thing as the video. i cant wait for him to finish that tutorial… heard rumors about being able to send midi data to ableton and record the midi movements in arraingment view so you can go back and tweak it like the mixtape function with the bridge in serato.
