Holy cow! The abandoned child crashes the party much? I cannot wait for some more previews of this, it looks like they’ve tried to beat Traktor at their own game, which is a pretty risky business strategy!
Can’t believe there isn’t already some talk about it on these forums. Also with it shipping with the CMD line, it’s going to be cheap to get into. This has potential to be a real game shaker by the looks of its functions (individually edited sample banks?! Isolated FX!?). Although I do remember Deckadance to be rather unstable and slightly laggy compared to Traktor/Serato.
I completely agree, the new features look extremely promising!
The 16-pad Sampler feature looks like Deckadance’s answer to the Traktor Remix Decks. If they work well and are compatible with any MIDI controller… wowww goodbye F1!
Edit: just caught the end of the video… unfortunately the CMDs will only ship with the LE version of Deckadance. Bummer.
Damn I really really wish the CMDs came with the full version of Deckadance 2. Only including the LE version makes it less enticing to switch from Traktor. Then again, I understand the reasoning behind it… the CMDs are designed for and being marketed to beginners, who won’t need all the advanced features right away. Still a bummer, especially since it was originally reported that they would be bundled with the full version!
I have to say, the fully mappable 4x4 pads is a beautiful Idea. No complex mapping needed, its honestly a cross between ableton live and traktor. Looks like great stuff.
Watching that video, I’m actually scared for the stability. And gutted about LE shipping with the CMDs, if you buy two or more you should get the full version, it is modular after all.
I think it’s more the guy that’s describing it. He comes across a bit.. Conman-ish in how he presents the product. Also VST compatibility is a train wreck waiting to happen! I’m still psyched to try it though, I just have bad memories of deckadance.
Well he did say that they only just received the alpha release a couple days before NAMM, so obviously he wasn’t completely comfortable talking about the software.
But then… if the software is still in alpha phase, but the CMDs are due to ship soon… does this mean more delay? Or an extremely rushed alpha and beta phase? My feeling is that this software is what’s been holding the CMDs up, and why Behringer still can’t give a solid release date. The units are ready to go, but the software isn’t?
Yeah I was thinking that. But if you get a controller, and comes with a program, even if it is just the LE version, you expect it to work flawlessly, otherwise it reflects bad on the whole package, even if the controller is fantastic.
I’ve got a chub for those isolated effects though. Oh man I’ve wanted that in Traktor for so long. (Without the crazy deck duplication thing)
