It’s not that bad. Lol.
Yeah, was thinking that it might be time to familiarize myself /w bomes… But NI also seems to be really good about adding missing midi commands.
Ok my turn.
I use software focus not hardware, and everytime I start up TPro2 I have to select software focus again. Didn’t happen in S4. ![]()
Yes I’m runnin under admin and windows 7 64-bit.
I do to, that kind sucks!
i never noticed that, i must test…
but heres the NOOB question, what does each one do,whats the difference ?
Ok I looked for it but didn’t find it yet or perhaps I overlooked it.. but when syncin tracks (I only have buttons and knobs, no faders) I can’t get the tempo to stay..
Example:
Deck A plays at 128bpm. Load up a track in Deck B, this track is native 130bpm.
I press sync. Deck B goes to 128 BUT I can only play it quantized because sync is on.
As soon as I press sync again, disabling it, Deck B automatically reverts back to 130bpm instead of stayin on 128bpm..
How do I fix this?
hard: follows S4 deck focus
soft: regular
in english for a stupid person like me paddy… ![]()
or would i better off to RTFM ? ![]()
First post here fellas and I would be extremely happy if someone could help me out. I had TPS2 w/ Audio 10 and my cdj’s running for a few days now and everything seemed to be okay. Today I pulled out my TT’s and decided to give the time code vinyl a try and this is where everything hit the fan.
I hooked up my TT’s via the manual and I couldn’t get a time code signal to appear in TSP2. I re-ran the set up wizard selecting my X1 as a controller, then selecting the Audio 10 as my sound card and the deck configuration I want after that. Still I was not getting a time code signal.
Trying to isolate the problem I shut down Traktor to decided to run audio through the Audio 10 to verify it was working. The Direct Thru worked for ouputs 3/4 however the output signal of 5 was soft, about -6db and 6 showing normal. All other outputs functioned normal. I think this is a whole seperate issue beside the time code.
I decided to give up on getting the time code working with the TT’s and set my CDJ’s back up. Everything plugged in and routed properly, I now cannot get TSP2 to recognize the time code from the cd’s either.
Also the FX section is doing some weird stuff as well. None of the paramaters are listed and the Kontrol X1 will not function properly.
Just to make sure I’m setting everything up properly here is what i have done.
CDJ 1000 RCA output to Audio 10 Input, Audio 10 Output to DJM 800 Input (Line)
The Audio 10 is configured for “Line” on the 2 outputs (3/4)(5/6). Direct Thru is not checked since i want to send a time code signal vrs. playing a regular cd.
Ive attached a PIC so you can see the FX section software error.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

My irish isn’t that good, so RTFM ![]()
Disclaimer: not saying irish is stupid
Edit: TFM doesn’t explain too much really
Deck Focus: Select control of the visual Deck Focus from the following menu: Software: Enable Software control of Deck Focus.
Hardware: Enable Hardware control of Deck Focus.
None: Disable Deck Focus.
Hardware: Displays the 2 decks focused on the S4 controller (what you see over the controller faders). No clue if it works with other hardware.
Software: you can map or click a single deck to change the focus of a particular parameter. Say you map the play button to follow focus, that parameter will only affect the selected deck, changing the focus to another deck will now make the play button affect the new selection.
Try bumping up the input gain to +12db on the Audio 10.
You can set that in the Audio 10 Control Panel.
Thanks, I just read over on the NI forums there is an issue with the Audio 10 and the Output 5/6 with one reading about -6db soft. I’m hoping its a firmware or driver issue that can be sorted out fairly easy.
I still have no clue why I cant get the time code stuff to work properly. I’ve check the “audible tone” (squeal) and it is present when running “direct thru” so i know my cdj’s and the time code cd are working properly. It has to be a software error in TPS2 unless I’m not setting up something properly in the preferences.
I have even tried un-installing TP2. That didnt do any good. Maybe its a driver issue with the Audio 10. Who knows.
As a Traktor Scratch Pro 2 user with CDJ-1000s, the 4 things that dont work the way I want-
- The disappearing waveforms (supposedly being fixed)
- How the Stable BPM does not respond in real-time like in TSP1 (hopefully will be fixed)
- No key-lock for the sample decks (AFAIK… feature request?)
- The scroll-zone issue with Control CD. Haven’t seen anyone else mention this yet, so I’ll explain -
The control CD does not behave the same way as in TSP1, specifically the scroll zone (Track 3.) In TSP1, if you scrolled up (counter-clockwise) far enough that you ran back into Track 2 on the CD, Traktor was smart enough to know that you were scrolling and allowed you to scroll seamlessly between Tracks 2 & 3 until you loaded the song for playback.
In TSP2 if you scroll back into Track 2, the scrolling stops and can only be fixed if you switch to Track 1 or 2, let the song load, and then switch back to Track 3 and scroll (only DOWN, obviously) again. I can reproduce this behavoir in absolute & relative mode, with “Load only in stopped deck” on or off, and with both the old and new version of Timecoded CD.
Like I said I haven’t heard of anyone else with this problem so if you guys could try and replicate it yourselves and let me know that would be awesome. Still trying to figure out if it’s a problem with my specific setup or an option I have (un)checked wrongly. Any advice greatly appreciated!! ![]()
Traktor 2 will not work when I set it to use my Vestax Typhoon Built In soundcard. Everything just simply stops working. When I select my laptop’s soundcard it works all dandy (with the exception that it’s my laptops speakers so there are cracks and of course no real outputs or headphone jacks). I’m at a loss of what to do
When you say stop working do you mean just sound and you can still control the software or can you not control the software with the Typhoon?
originally installed all the shit for scratch duo 2 to work, entered the serial, downloaded the drivers, then opened the software. i was plugged in to my soundsystem, pressed play on deck 1, and the track started playing as if the pitch was set to +%100. made me laugh, but i just unplugged everything since i was just called in to work.
get home, and reinstall the software thinking maybe it would fix the problem. reinstall traktor and when i click on the icon on my desktop, this comes up.
i’ve reinstalled, as it says, three more times, yet everytime i do, this little fucker pops up again. ideas?
nevermind, i guess.
i ended up going to the traktor pro icon within applications instead of the one on the desktop (which was created when i had the demo) and now it seems to work just fine.
It just stops all together. It won’t respond to my Typhoon or X1 and if I use the mouse to drag a song into a deck it will load but if I click play nothing happens. Also I got this figured out by changing the settings of the Vestax drivers.
But now I run into the issue that when I plug in my Novation Dicers it says that the “Asio Driver for Typhoon” (what I use to run sound out the soundcard) is no longer connected. So as of now I can run my x1 and Typhoon perfectly with TP2 but I can’t get the Dicers into the equation which sucks because I use them a lot.
Have you checked for an updated Asio driver?
TSP2 scroll issue with CDs
Can any of you guys on Scratch 2 with CDJs try to reproduce the scroll behavior I described on this page?
FYI - I never use Auto Cue on the CDJs when playing on TSP
