Does ne know if there is a way possible to combine hotkeys and midi setup? For example like when holding down shift on a keyboard and turning a midi knob it will do sumthing different then it would when not pressed, uno like modifying it? if so datd b da bees knees ^ ^
im not just asking if you can do it in ableton or traktor or whtva themselves but liek evn if theres a midi manipulation software or something that can do it

Bomes Midi Pro supports key presses

no fuckn way! omgz i luv u thnx!

Yes friggen way :stuck_out_tongue: Bomes is da shit !

what is Bomes? and would it work with Virtual DJ?

Bomes is a midi translation program that you can do some simple level programming in, it works with any program that supports midi. So yes, it would work great with Virtual Dj and would even give Virtual DJ modifier like controls like in Traktor.

Personally i am still using Bomes over Traktor Pro’s modifiers and have no plan on using Traktor Pro’s modifiers any time soon.

Bomes maps stuff to a virtual device. You can combine MIDI-devices and even the keyboard and therefore make totally custom layouts.
I don’t remember if you can make your own Virtual DJ mappings but if yes, it’s no problem to use Bomes and VDJ

When I read the title, I was like… Cool, someone knows his classics:

speaking of T pro modifiers, what exactly do they do? i’ve noticed them on the midi mapping page of T pro and never really understood them.

I downloaded bomes beta (for mac) last night when I was trying to figure out how to change the midi channel on my Korg nanokey. Couldn’t figure out how the hell to use it and luckily found that Korg do one specifically for the nanos anyway.

I am very new to Traktor/midi controllers though, but it all looked alien to me.

Think of modifers as Traktor 3 Pages that work only on a small section of your mixer at a time as opposed to the whole thing at once.

This is super simple to do, create a translation and set the input to 90 qq pp
and the output to 91 qq pp the power of bomes is really unleashed when you start working with midi rules

I don’t doubt that, but to an impatient newbie that just wants to press a button that’s clearly labelled ā€œChange Midi Channelā€ it’s a tad daunting!
