and then DJ EZ 3 hour boiler room set.

ez killed it as usual! dude sure loves his backspins :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmz likely one of better tiesto sets I’ve heard lately

Gotta love the diversity of taste on this forum because I thought that EZ Boiler Room set was appalling.
Most of my mates thought the same.

Way she goes I guess

Overall I thought it was a great set. The way he used silence, played with the mood, used technical skill and went between so many different tracks was bananas. dude also had the crowd on lock. With that being said, I can totally see why a lot of people may not enjoy it, especially because there were some parts that were a little sloppy

I thought the set got bad after Majestic stepped off, but the first half was just mad.

In the garage scene nobody can even touch EZ tbh.

but yaya toure was there

What?

I realise that he is very popular but I have friends that disagree. Just a matter of differing taste.

I didn’t like it. What part of that is confusing?

It is allowed.

Spose it different styles within their respective scene’s etc. Props too him for keeping it all up for 3 hours, and that crowd was loving it. Seemed the definition of a good set to me.

It just really upsets me that people call that stuff garage. I don’t like it.

I havent heard garage music in a club since I was 16/17 when 2step/UK garage was HUGE.

Does EZ thrive on playing classics? Or is there new UK garage being made?

He plays a lot of classics, some less known speed garage/bassline tunes and some newer bassy,garage-influenced tracks. Oh, and a bit of grime.

Did you like his first Boiler Room set?

I’m seeing him on Saturday, I’m absolutely pissing myself with excitement.

I don’t think theres a massive amount of “Garage” being produced but there is alot of house which has strong garge/bassline influences which EZ plays alot of as well as the “classics”

It’s a bit of a mixture at the moment I reckon, still plenty of ‘traditional’ US Garage/Soulful House being produced, but looking at the UK branch (for want of a better phrase), that mid-late 90’s sound with the basslines, cut/pitched vocals/dubs etc, which was popular last year, continues to be so in 2014 - often interestingly deemed ‘Deep House’ but that’s another discussion in it’s own right

A lot of that UK sound producers are still putting brand new tracks out, Jeremy Sylvester, Matt Lamont, Booker T et al along with the high profile people we all know about, Eats, Huxley, Shadow Child, Low Steppa, Scott Diaz etc etc etc but as Jay says not necessarily listed as ‘Garage’ per se.

Then there’s Future Garage…

Don’t let me get SERIOUS!
