Everyone has hopefully had a chance to enjoy their VCI-100SE’s. As you know, it was a lot of work to get these done, so we would appreciate it if you would take the time to say thanks to Vestax. Feel free to also mention how much you like it, so they know the work was not wasted.

Hi,

I put off buying a normal VCI-100 because of the hard work and passion Ean was putting into making the already awesome midi controller that much better. I waited what seemed like an eternity and boy was it worth the wait.

From opening it out of the box to playing with the buttons and sliders, everything was so well put together and polished. The only midi controller i know of which feels like proper DJ gear, I have a few other M-Audio pieces which just don’t even compare.

I think Vestax is really smart for taking Ean’s ideas and making them a reality and no doubt this essential information and forward thinking will do wonders for years to come. If Vestax want to stay ahead of the crowd they need to get them think about the digital DJ as this is surely the future. I look forward to tighter integration and collaboration with Native Instruments Traktor!!!

Hi Ean & Vestax!

Thanks for coming out with such an awesome controller. I had the standard VCI-100 for about 8 months before getting the SE version, and I have to say that the SE version is about 100x better than the standard version in terms of functionality, usability, quality and also looks.

even after snagging a VCI-100 nearly a year earlier, i still had to jump on the SE - it is just that much better. cheers to vestax for actually producing this great product and to ean for not only conceiving and crafting it but managing the sales and distribution as well. quite pleased to say the least.

Thank you Vestax for making this amazing controller, i took me two years to find a controller with so much potential and fuctions for a Dj.
Also thank you Ean for the great ideas and forward thinking in the design of this controller and helping us out as DJs.
I hope the collaboration between Vestax and Ean continues in the future so we have new and better controllers to play with.

Vestax/Ean, thanks a lot for designing and building an amazing dj controller, I’ve since retired the tried and trusted faderfox dj1, as this exceeds at everything at such a higher level for performance and access to controls inside of Traktor DJ. Friends drool and I get braggin’ rights. Now, if we can just get the vestax protective sleeve for the VCI-100 here in the states for a reasonable price.

To Vestax & Ean Golden

I became interested in the VCI-100 by stumbling upon Ean Golden’s videos of him moding and performing on his VCI-100. Immediately I knew what a great DJ tool it was and that it would help mold some of the new ways of DJing, knowing this I knew I had to have one.

When the time came to purchase one I heard that there was a second edition black VCI-100 coming out but it was only going to be released in Japan, then I started check how much a plane ticket to Japan was, but ended up finding out that there was also going to be a limited number of Ean Golden editions that would be available here in the U.S. With that bit of info I started following the progress of DJ Tech Tools and creation of the VCI-100SE very closely so that I would not miss the chance of getting my hands on one.

Over the course of waiting until the VCI-100 was made I have learned a lot of DJing and what a great company Vestax is. I now have the VCI-100SE and am very proud of it, I even stayed up until about 1AM on a work night just to be sure I would get it.

I want to thank you Ean and Vestax for taking the time to make this tool what it is today. It is definitely one of the greatest pieces of DJ equipment anyone could own. Thank you again and keep up the good work

The Vestax VCI-100 SE is the best piece of DJ equipment I have ever bought!

What Ean and Vestax have created in this pretty little controller is the future of Djing. There is no single midi controller or mixer/cd/turntable setup that has the functionality or quality of the VCI-100 SE! It is a pioneer in what I believe will be a new era of multi-functional dj controllers.

When I discovered that Vestax would be manufacturing a version of Ean’s modded VCI-100, I jumped at the opportunity to own one of these truly unique tools. I ordered my SE early on the first day of pre-sale, and was lucky enough to get in the first batch of 50.

I received my SE a few months ago, and my turntables have been gathering dust ever since. My abilities have increased exponentially, and my love for the game has grown equivocally. The quality and craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. It truly is a work of art, and I’m proud to be in the ranks of the few that own one.

I want to thank Vestax for going out of their way to make the Vestax VCI-100 SE at virtually no profit! This is customer service at it’s best!

I also want to, once again, thank Ean for making it all happen. And, for continuing to provide support and advancements.

I’m confused, is Vestax offering the SE now? Or is the one up on ebay the only way to get one?

When using a midi controller to mix, I’ve relied solely on my Novation Remote SL25. I thought I had everything just how I wanted it…but I just couldn’t ever see myself playing with it live anywhere.

I can’t begin to express how excited I was to get my hands on this exceptional piece of hardware. Where I thought I could everything with the SL25, I had no clue how many other things I was capable of doing with the VCI100se and the 1.3 firmware. This is a piece of equipment that I can use in public without being questioned by people as to what I’m doing. It’s SOLID!

Thanks for allowing Ean to help with the design. I only hope you can work with him more in the future.

Dear Vestax,

I didn’t set out to buy a VCI-100 SE, but as I saw other people’s reports of using it I came to like the idea of having a box with lots of user definable controls on it. Repeated stories and youtube videos about how well made the box is made me want to take a second look.

Once I got to play with an SE, I was totally sold. Designed by a MIDI-aware DJ for other DJs, the SE is absolutely the finest device available today. It’s more than just a controller, when paired with Traktor’s programmable MIDI maps it’s a platform for trying out new DJ interfaces. If you want direct control over your sound? You can program new layouts yourself and try new techniques. The VCI-100’s MIDI map is public and open with no proprietary secrets, and this turns the VCI-100 from the normal “DJ Solution” prepackaged controllers into a DJ Tool. The Swiss Army Knife of DJ controllers, useful in so many situations.

Solidly constructed, with room to customize for people wiling to void their warranties, the only thing missing are software specifications for designing my own firmware!

The other thing the VCI-100 SE does for us is make the art of computer-based DJing respectable. People see the device in action and they understand that the DJ is controlling the sound, not the computer. When I offer to let them play with it hands on, they finally understand what computer DJing is about - direct, two handed control of the music. Any DJ playing out in public with a VCI-100 SE is working as an ambassador for change, making our art acceptable to the DJ community, and it’s the quality construction and look of the SE that opens the doors.

Great job, Vestax. Thank you for giving us a great tool for shaping the future of dance music!
