too many traktor topics
i think there should be a traktor section instead of an s4 section on this forum far too many topics all asking pretty much the same stuff
i know this is the “General Discussion” but every other thread is about traktor and all the good topics are getting shoved to page 2

Ha, I feel the same sometimes! We have to remember though that forums are a relatively new cultural phenomenon. It may take several generations of exposure before people learn to stop being complete dicks online
i mean untill people can not be dicks IRL, i doubt the change is gonna happen within a few generations of internet people if it hasnt caught on yet for real people

Forums are just a slightly more crappy version of BBSes that have been around since before the internet was widespread. There’s no excuse to not have a clue what you’re doing. Besides, it’s still life.
I think what needs to happen is that DJTT needs to admit that it’s basically a traktor board that encourages people to discuss other stuff.
while most of the content leans that way, it isn’t specific.
the majoirty of members are traktor users, so majority of articles/threads will go that way.
traktor users ended up here through google searchs that would’ve picked up on vci se related stuff. which is traktor based as only prog it would really be doable with.
a year ago ppl called it a vci heavy board.
all platforms are treated equally and no one prog is seen as lesser than the others in any articles.
i ain’t trying to start a mass debate or anything but for the people that have been here awhile or people who just want to talk tech you gotta go through alot of traktor threads by people with 1 or 2 post counts asking stuff that has been asked 100 times then never to appear again with out contributing to the forum.
its just common sense to search before asking and its turning in to a traktor forum rather than a djtectools forum
this forum is amazing at helping people and i want this to continue.
each case is different. thats why i dont mind new threads with the same question.
it might be the same problem, but it might be caused by something else.
it would save the user time to just ask, then search and then post if they solved the problem.
(unfortunately step 3 never happens because no one does step 2)
i dont know. either way, separating the boards would mean that those questions get ignored because the GD will still get the most traffic, and all the old questions need to be re- asked so that they are on that board.
TL;DR
no separation. shit gets ignored then. would rather answer the same thing a bunch of times than have someones new question missed
^this. I rarely visit here anymore cause everyone and his mother are talking about traktor on here.
And that is why you would go here, instead of the NI forums, for ANYTHING Traktor related, because your going to get multiple responses relatively quickly, and we have some extremely knowledgeable Traktor folk around here.
As well as really kind people who don’t even use Traktor…but are rather generous, can muster up some common sense…
…And oh yeah, they can read a manual.
shrug imho a rather petty thing to be complaining about.
This always happens when a new version gets released. It’ll die down in a few weeks.
