Sooo, when people ask me to play top 40 I play remixes.
Possibly Afrojack remixes…skrillex remixes… [just kidding, those are a bit too far off from the original song] but things like Kaskade remix of Teenage Dream I almost always play, O-God remix of Barbra Streisand.
Do you guys play that type of stuff?
And do you think that it appeases the crowd who like top 40?
Speaking of which, lets compile a long list of good remixes that sort-of started on the other thread.
And let me add a few:
Pitbull - Hey Baby (Afrojack Fire Remix)
Just Can’t Get Enough (2Nd Adventure Extened Radio Mix) - Black Eyed Peas
Teenage Dream (Kaskade Remix) (David Aude Remix) (Temabes Remix) - Katty Perry
Firework (Jump Smokers Club Radio Edit) - Katty Perry
Till the World Ends [Dark Intensity Remix] - Britney Spears
Great idea!!! This could be very helpful to people. I’ll add some more i have:
Beyonce- Single Ladies (Dave Aude Remix)
Beyonce- Halo (Single Ladies Remix)
Lady Gaga- Judas (Dark Intensity Remix)
Djs From Mars- Run This Town
The White Panda- Touch 3 Skies (Mashup, but still good)
Coldplay- Viva La Vida (DiscoTech Remix)
If anyone is looking for remixes to a particular song, especially Top 40, i usually youtube any of the following, they’ve put out solid stuff:
Dave Aude
Dark Intensity
Danny Darko
Freddy O
Dj 8 Bars
I ALWAYS play Lady Gaga- Alejandro (skrillex Remix)… and the crowd responds very very well. Being a mobile dj… I get the wonderful opportunity to see just how the top 40 crowd responds to each and every song. I’ve found, often times, that you NEVER mess with Ke$ha… it honestly all depends on what mood the crowd is in… if they’re already dancing… Remix. if the mood is more mellow… then that Adele original mix is better than the dance remix… just my two cents…
You’d be surprised at how mental people go for ‘Du Hast(bombs away remix)’ by Rammstein… also theres a remix of Dynamite that goes down well, i cant remember off the top of my head the remixer but youtube ‘dynamite taio midnite’ and then download the OTHER one, called the main room remix!
Bombs Away would be my big recommendation here, they’re excellent for remixes!
yeah was a houseparty with a load of dubstep fans, but i hate dubstep so i was playing really filthy electro all night, but i decided to move into jump-up high energy house and tried that rammstein remix and they all went fucking nuts. they all knew the words as well, surprisingly!
livingelectro.com has a bunch - and they are almost always 320 kbps, but technically you have to own the orig. tracks to be able to play the remixes. Dunno where you are playing at but if it’s anywhere more than a local house party it is best to abide by this rule.
