It was set up using OSCulator, TouchOSC, and MixVibes Cross (all on mac FYI)…I’ve included all the mapping files and some instructions that hopefully do the trick.
^^Yeah totally over Wifi…Typically I use teh “Create a network” on my mac so that I know my connection is reliable.
I was thinking about doing up a mapping for that interface for Traktor. Does anyone know if I make a mapping in Traktor 3 if it works across the newer versions? I haven’t updated in quite awhile.
I should elaborate a bit more…here’s how it works, in case you’ve never tried this stuff before.
You have 3 pieces to this equation. 1: Your DJ software. 2: TouchOSC controller. 3: OSCulator for transmitting signals from TouchOSC and sending them to Traktor.
Here’s an example on how it is configured. In TouchOSC I created a fader control called “fader1.” TouchOSC is also configured to send messages on port 8000. I opened OSCulator and configured it to receive messages on port 8000. Now that OSCulator is listening, I simply touch my “fader1” control and bingo - it shows up in my OSCulator window. In OSCulator I can tell this message to send a Midi signal (IE: if it were a toggle button, I could set it to send a midi toggle, or a midi note). Once I have done this for each control, I then go into the DJ software and do it again…this time when I touch controls on my screen…now my DJ software recognizes these midi signals (thanks to OSCulator) and I merrily start mapping them all.
