Tracktor 4 decks system requirements?

Tracktor 4 decks system requirements?

Hello

I’m mainly DJed 2 decks and trying to do some new cool stuffs,
I need 4 decks on live, but just realized that my MBP can’t handle it.

I get delays(when duplicate the playing tracks) and have high CPU temperature than 2 decks. i prefer under 65 degree but with 4 decks it is easy 80 degree and up. with 2 decks its like 65 to 70 degrees (and i’m fine with that as long as the temperature is under 70)

I have been djing wihtout ANY single problems with MBP 2 decks (A+B) setup. (rarely 3 decks)

most of my files are flac, and I have late 2008 MBP with SSD + 8GBram I know this is antique but had any single problems with 2decks setup.

any recommendations? or if you are true 4 deck dj with remix deck, what year is your mbp?

I want real experiences, not techy guessing or google knowledges.

p.s. just opened this thread because I’m going to buy a used mbp but also don’t wanna waste of money if my new used mbp will do the same.

Thanks alot!

just to add to the post,
I have 2x D2 + djm-t1 + x1. that’s my gig setup. wanted to do 4 deck with remix deck and files are FLAC.
switching remix decks and regular decks upon situation, i’m trying to do live remixes.

another setup will be
also i have turntables at home so next mbp should handle dvs needles without problems when it comes to 4 decks as well.

My setup worked fine with a 2010 MBP 13" and a normal HDD. Though I think adding Ableton as well would probably cause it to struggle. I’ve got a 2015 MBP 13" and it’s totally worth it.

It depends what you use.

I run Traktor on a ten year old Core Duo 2, with 4gb and a boot SSD.

I run two channels of DVS, one CDJ and one remix deck.

I dont ever use pitchlock, and rarely use macro FX.

I never have pops, dropouts or lag.

Traktor CPU load is entirely down to pitchlock and macro fx use. If you dont use these, the requirements are much lower.

Hi, with same mb late 2008 i play with traktor 4 decks + maschine+ ableton + 5 controllers that work fine .. maybe you enable to many fx in the preferences fx list + if your collection is to big … cpu dislike ,you need to make latency in 512 or 1024 on audio preferences ,disable fx by decks when you don’t use ,disable wifi ,timemachine etc…

Traktor has become pretty streamline as far as thread and memory usage. For just simple mixing, I can run my audio 10 with 4 tracks DVS with USB latency set to 2ms and running with a buffer 1,024 samples without errors and latency issues.

My DJ laptop is running an AMD A8 Pro 4 core (2 thread per core) 2.2ghz (3.1ghz peak). I run 4 decks, one as a remix deck, all four fix units running in group with all in group running. 3 of the decks running time with time code. Audio 10 set at 2ms USB and 256 samples buffer. I’m running team viewer in the background to use my tablet as a monitor for traktor.

No lag, errors, or latency issues.

my old laptop had similar specs, except for some optimisations it ran everything fine.
