Traktor 2 lag issue

Traktor 2 lag issue

Hey everyone i have been having this laggy problem with traktor 2. When i am playing a set it seems the screen will freeze for 2-3 seconds at most then continue, there is no audio problem what so ever. Is this because i am loading music from an external hard drive ?

specs
sony vaio 8gb ram i3 2.13 ghz
music stored on external hard drive
kontrol s4
traktor pro 2

i’m sorry - yes windows 7. I changed the theme to windows 7 classic and i am getting absolutely no audio drop outs. just a couple freezes every so often. i cannot reproduce it its completely random
