Traktor dropping the ball

Traktor dropping the ball

Is it just me but every feature these days seems to be about new controllers and features for Serato, just saw a new one called flip.

Traktor seems to have stopped coming up with any new ideas, its basically been the same system for a few years with the addition only of Remix decks.

Due to their proprietary streak, third parties seemed to have stopped making controllers for Traktor and I’m starting to seriously think about Serato if my main controller packs up in the future.

Come on NI, lets inject some enthusiasm back into the product not just updates to your own hardware. Traktor has always been about the software but you seem to have forgotten that.

We are about 40 days away from BPM - I suspect that NI will be announcing stuff to follow up to their 2 recent teaser videos very soon.

I feel the same way, but NI hasn’t stopped working on Traktor, they have just stopped communicating with their fans. All the Analysts are saying there will be a major update and maybe new hardware in the next few months.

There hasn’t been a software update in nearly six months. Maybe they’re working on Traktor Pro 3?

Off course NI is working on something new, but you can’t expect them to immediately react to new products from other companies… If they did, their new products wouldn’t be “perfect or original” and would be full of bugs

It’s The Future of Djing!
What ever that is, I think that this time Traktor is really taking a step in to the next level.:open_mouth:hmy:

Maybe I’m reading way too much into this, but I imagine you’re actually in a position to know (and have signed an NDA). So good to see enthusiasm

Good topic! Where is traktor pro with video? don’t make me jump ship NI

Sounds like a man ‘in the know’

Oh not this again. Pfft.

All your fault.

Unfortunately yes again! I’m not looking for a list of wanted features, just venting my frustration at NI apparent lack of any meaningful development in the software, we have had loads of new controllers called (insert any letter here)1’s. all the while running the same, getting tired, software. To me it appears that they have made a decision to concentrate on hardware ( naturally there is more money to be made here) but have basically neglected the software.

I’m happy with my hardware and can control every bloody thing with it, I just want the software to get inspiring again. They set the sw standard but now seem like a hardware company.

A symptom of how boring Traktor has become are the number of posts to this forum, I may be imagining it but I think they have dropped dramatically in the last year or two and I would hazard a guess that the majority of users here use Traktor.

If it weren’t for these threads it could e a very quiet forum indeed. The NI Traktor forum also has the same issue.

Let’s be clear personally I love my traktor s4 mk2, and traktor software, but… I’m currently checking out ddj-sx2 and ddj-sz because I want to do some video plus those big jog wheels. .. Come on NI…

Well, I didn’t sign anything with NI and do not have any insight on what’s behind the Traktor scene… Sorry if it sounded like that!
I do have enthusiasm for Pro 3 in hope to see some more advanced mapping options that can make any mapping work easier for everybody.

The most of advanced controllerism stuff I can already map as a function.

When balls drop doesn’t that indicated maturing?

If it helps any, most Serato users are jumping ship due to lack of stable releases (myself included).

Yes, it’s starting all over again… (In before the transparant touchscreens start to pour down on the forums again. )

Exactly my thoughts… im just waiting for Ni to start MK3 versions of ewery of their product
As for the remix decks, thet still need some work to become really usefull. Ni needs to know that selling us Traktor Remix Sets is like selling us a david gueta song over and over again

As far as speculation i really hope the midi fighter twister, gave them a idea in the right direction

Seeing as we’re making wild guesses and speculation…

Since Traktor has ALREADY stolen God knows how many features from Live - why not steal their transient detection function? Then, maybe Traktor could AUTO-CHOP the intro (drum loop?) to a track into individual hits, and load 'em into a Remix Set.
