they join forces with numark and give away TraktorLE with Omni Control, Stealth Control and Total Control controllers by numark. It is yet unknown if numark continiuos Cue.
No one knows, they havent talked about anything just yet.
Traktor should hook up with Vestax and their babies could be called Vektorz
I love you. True story.
Plus: I think traktor has enough of a following that it’ll be okay.
I don’t think NI should need to lure customers away from the competition, the software speaks for itself without carrots having to be dangled in front of us… although freebies are always appreciated.
All that says is that they are no longer making their crappy own dj program and are instead shipping the units with Traktor LE - i dont see how this is anywhere even remotely close to being “Traktors answer to Serbleton”
There is going to be tighter intergration over time between Maschine and Traktor though, that should be pretty cool
But even that i dont see as “Traktors answer to Serableton”
Did you ever use Cue? or Numark virtual vinyl. im just curious if its your real opinion or just sth you read ![]()
Serato work with ableton, traktor with numark. The traktorLE for numark is different than the normal LE. Although serato and ableton are both software, and numark is only hardware, traktor has a new business partner just as serato.
It is remotely close to Serableton because both create new userbases from the brands, serato users that start using ableton, and numark hardware buyers who also get traktor and not a “crappy” software. ![]()
NI arent working with Numark they are just bundling LE with the controllers like they are with Vestax. The LE version that comes with Numark stuff is TPRO LE whereas Vestax are still shipping Traktor 3 LE which is stooopid as T3 is discontinued but it doesnt surprise me when Vestax are so stoopid they havent have a UK distributor for about 8 months.
Personally id like NI to team up with Vestax and make a Certified mixer with midi control.
Or even better with LEGO and make a modular contoller that slots together.

Truth!
Traktor seems to becoming the CDJ1000 of the digitalist DJ world. (jump on me if I’m wrong there)
If Traktor created a dedicated mixer like Serato, (that was actually HALF DECENT!!) then club’s might start using them. I definately think NI should team up with Pioneer - good old Zabiela - Pioneer’s FX brain-child, has been endorsing Traktor, perhaps this could set up some integration. Maybe a mod-version of the DJM 800 with a build in control section dedicated for song searching?
I’m just hypothesising now… anyone diggin my jive? ![]()
Big call.. just reading that back to myself.
Yeah im diggin on that. Problem is that Traktor is pretty much anathema to all that Pioneer do. Not sure how interested Pioneer would be in teaming up with NI who make software that negates the need for having CDJs.
Pioneer need to work within their own product range i guess.
Pioneer are about to produce a “revolutionary” product so who knows. Maybe a CDJ with waveform display and etc to compete with software like Traktor/Serato Itch etc.
Although a CDJ like the 400 that can be used as a midi controller of the CDJ1000 standard would make sense.
I mention Vestax because Scratch DJs are cyring out for a scratch mixer that is NI Certified and many would love to see the new PRO mixer become Certified whenever it comes out.
(still hopeful for the NI / LEGO Partnership)
ah of course Vestax. Far better than Pioneer for that kinda thing. I just really like using pioneer kit, but it lacks the integration to make it really good. Like, at the moment, I’d much rather spend £2000 on a midi controller (like the 4D or something) than buy CDJ-1000s (which was my dream before I got Traktor) simply because they’re almost redundant - and TSP for me is almost a gimic now, and I literally only use it with CDJs to look like I’m doing something more interesting than pressing buttons and staring at my laptop.
Who knows.. I swear digital DJing must be one of the most exciting hobbies for new technology
Love it!
Any ideas how this’ll work? I heard this on Tongy’s dance weekly podcast with radio 1 - Richie Hawtin mentioned it.
This would be cool.. but can’t quite fathom how it would happen? ![]()
i almost pissed myself. that’s great.
i hope they don’t mind losing some of their eastern european markets over that.. ![]()
Well, I think the biggest task NI needs to take on is to bring the UI to the next level. That means moving to a vector graphic interface like Ableton. Supporting touch interfaces, multi monitor setups etc. Everything needs to be resizeable and freely positional.
I also hope that they will provide API’s so that we can at least mess with all things not related to the actual audio stream. That means we should be able to mess with (aka interface external apps) the visual layout, the playlists, the meta data on the current playing tracks, MIDI mapping management etc. Obviously this also means that they need to support OSC so that we can really have some fun in that department.
In terms of partnerships I do not think they really need any. They just need to hire people that know how to develop SOTA UI’s.
that’s deep man.. ![]()
Yeah resizable and moveable “objects” has been a long asked for request and its not even on the road map as far as i know.
I know its very tempting to say that Traktor needs this and that from Ableton but it doesnt. Someone requested a Sequencer in Traktor. I dont get it. Its like me saying i want 4 wheel drive for my Mini Cooper, its a small fast car not a 4X4. If i wanted to go off road id buy a 4X4.
Let Traktor evolve and develop sure but there has to be point where you say “let other programs do that. We will do what we do”.
Im sure that some of the above suggestions are reasonable eapecially multi monitor setups and UI options but the biggest task is getting the Scratch and Midi DJ aspects refined before they start with the stuff that is less urgent.
The day Traktor looks like Ableton im off to Serato and coming from me thats a horrible thought.
