traktor glitching (non CPU related!!!) please help!

hi everyone

recently I have big problem with my traktor 2.5 & S4 :scream:

I did find many post about CPU related glitching problem with traktor
by this one is non CPU related.

every 2-3 minutes traktor produce glitch/pop/crack sound
something similar to static electricity crack but muuuuch louder

I have HP probook, win7 64bit, 4GB RAM, i5 processorā€¦ my CPU usage is all the time at cca 15-20% max
and during that sound CPU does not jump (does not go to peek/red)
itā€™s always at the same level

I did try to change latency, audio cable, USB port (itā€™s 2.0, not 3.0), but the problem stays :thinking:
(I can hear glitch sound in my headphones also so the problem is not in club amplifiers or speakersā€¦)
and the problem is there with older versions also :disappointed:

any ideas???

Iā€™m having the exact same problem, Iā€™m using a new macbook pro X1 controller, 2dj sound card, and traktor pro 2.5, so annoying what is the problem please???
Gone back to cdā€™s untill sorted!

The new macbook pro is probably your problemā€¦ are you sure you have the same issue?

For the OP, I donā€™t have too much to offer except maybe it is the fact that they are usb 3.0 and have conflicting drivers.

Thanks for your replyā€¦My macbook pro is not the latest retina display, Iā€™ve had it 6 months itā€™s been perfect in the clubs, I was just about to partition the drive to setup a dual boot system, (one OS just for djā€™ing the other for general use) then I switched off the ā€œkeyā€ function in Tracktor and it appears to have stopped the the horrible glitch/sound every 10/15 secs, I played out the following evening for 3 hours with no sound glitches fantastic! except the bloominā€™ controller stopped working!!! I had to mix a cd in then reboot the mac, luckily i managed to keep the dancefloor, but itā€™s stress you dont want while your enjoying yourself! I think maybe the usb socket could be coming loose or perhaps the cable, Iā€™ll have to check thisā€¦

Previous things that Iā€™ve done to resolve the glitch/sound every 10/15 secs issue is:

  1. removed a sound driver which ā€œLog me inā€ had installed
  2. Adjust the latency in both directions
  3. Adjust the sample rate trying all different rates
  4. checked system properties for devices being used and closed any unknown resource hoggers

Iā€™ll post an update of the controller blackout once ive checked out the mac

Iā€™m having a similar problem where sound output to kontrol s4 makes makes a tick tick tick noise sound and playing a track is only noise. Could this be a problem with OS X 10.8? Iā€™ve tried updating both traktor and the kontrol s4 driver.
Sound output to internal works.

It happens on windows as well.

Seems I spoke to soon on my CPU relief. After a reboot with 2.5.1 still getting a pegged CPU, although the audio ā€˜clippingā€™ is happening with a little less frequency.

Unhook my S2, all is good.

Sorry YaYa I have to agree with MellowState.
I will not be wasting my time reading any more of your comments.
And whose problem did you resolve by turning down the gain? I think youā€™re just making stuff up now.
Anyway. Back to reality. Iā€™m having problems with Traktor S4 and an intermittent transient electrical spike going through the system and causing a large crack sounding noise through the speakers. The problemā€™s been there since purchase last December 2011.
Happens about once every 10 to 15 minutes on average and sometimes the crack, or is it a pop you call it, is so loud it sounds like itā€™s going to damage my speakers.
I think Iā€™ve tried everything. Iā€™m even onto a new i7 core laptop and the noise is still there.
Could it be a problem with the Traktor S4 controller itself?
Itā€™s very frustrating because Iā€™ve wasted so much time and the product is not cheap.
Can anyone help here?

Yeah I found this thread 2 months ago, had a bad fault and decided to respond now.
And talk shit into the bargain.
I take it from the sarcasm that NI arenā€™t too quick in responding?
Great so Iā€™m stuck with a guy named after a Greek grandma, who thinks turning down the gain will solve everything and then accuses me of talking shit.
Shall I give up now?

Ha ha. Thanks for the advice.

And apologies for being cheeky. I started this.
Iā€™m just really pā€™d off and frustrated and donā€™t have much time to waste.
Also having problems transferring ITunes songs from one laptop to the other, and Traktor on the new one not recognising the songs.
Things should run more smoothly than this.
