Traktor Modifiers help with VCI100mk2

Hi,

I am using the VCI100mk2, and am trying to make a modifier to the play/pause button that when the volume slider of that deck is up, the play/pause button is disabled, basically so I can’t press play/pause by accident when the deck is playing.

I looked and tried everything, but nothing seems to work.. I have gotten the idea to work with buttons, but not the volume slider.

Any advice?

you surely have to add a second value to your linefader in the midi-setup of your vci, so that it only sends the second value when it’s fully cranked up…

I don’t think you can edit the midi notes of the VCI mk2. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Welcome to the forum Modernmin!

I’m sure someone will know whether or not this is possible.

Yea, you can’t do things like that with faders, only buttons. thats the problem :disappointed:
But was wondering if anyone found a way around this

well that’s easy to do… but you don’t need the fader…

say the play/pause button, modifier conditions => Play/Pause / DeckA / 0
so the button only works if deck is stopped.

Or add a Modifier to a fader, act as button, (perhabs inverse), Hold. So if the fader is up, ModifierXY is on 1.

it can be done

Cant use the play/pause button, modifier conditions => Play/Pause / DeckA / 0, cos then i cant use songs :disappointed:

Tried both, dont seem to work :disappointed:

ok, then try the other one.

You will, that if the VolumeFader of A is “on”, the play/pause button is deactivated.

Add Modifier1 (if you don’t used it already)
Learn, move Fader.
Now say “hold”
set on 1

now if you slightly move your volumefader up, the modifier1 goes from value 0 to 1.

Go to your Play/Pause Button
modifiers conditions => M1 = 0

so when the volume fader is on 0 (down)
you can use Play/Pause
but if you move the fader up (just a bit)
play/pause won’t work now

You can’t use hold on a fader.

sure, you have just to say the fader is a button under TYPE OF CONTROLLER

in this example is CH05-CC02 is the VolumeFader of DeckA

hey just updated my book to include the answer to this question, its pritty simple to be honest. The explination and mapping example is on page 22. Download link in my signiture

took a quick look through your book, add under Modifiers “the Magic Invert”

Explained here

Nope, doesnt work either. the play/button either works if it is up or down, or the button doesnt work at all…
:disappointed: really boggles me, these should work in theory, but nothing does

yep it is on my list of things to add the book should grow by about another 20 pages over this next 2 weeks

Funnily enough, I done exactly as it says in your book, still doesnt work… could be an issue with the controller and/or traktor it seems.
Few things you mention I dont have, I cant assign M8 (Im using modifer 8 for testing) to Deck A, only Assignment I have is global.

So ya, this doesnt work either

it works, i’m still 3 hours at work, if you export and upload your tsi, i’ll do, (TSI are the new Sudokus  )

go into your controller manager and turn off midi learn. Move the fader up and see if modifier 1 turns to the value of 1 and when you move the fader back to the bottom returns to the value of zero. It should do. If not check that it is mapped to that fader. Its control type should be set to button and value 1. Post a screen shot of your modifier mapping if this does not work

if you could upload the tsi that would be usefull aswell

It doesnt work, I have tried it etc., tried various methods…

My controller setup is weird tho, its attached. bog standard, nothing is edited or anything… this is how the vestax driver set itself up.
All the modifiers were already there etc, only thing I added to play with is modifier 8, nothing else.

Tried this, the modifier doesnt change… weirdly..

See above for my .tsi
