Traktor Pro 4 Sound vs. other Devices

Hi everyone,

I’m hearing a consistent difference between original audio files and Traktor Pro 4 playback/recordings.

To my ears, Traktor sounds smoother and more homogenized. Different tracks seem to lose some of their individual character, especially in the bass and highs. As a result, tracks feel more similar to each other and there is less contrast and energy compared to the original files.

What’s interesting is that I hear this not only during playback in Traktor, but also in recordings made with Traktor’s internal recorder.

I’ve already ruled out:

  • Auto Gain (ON/OFF)
  • Key Lock / Master Tempo
  • Limiter
  • Different EQ models
  • FX and Mixer FX

Setup:

  • Traktor Pro 4
  • Reloop Terminal Mix 2
  • ASIO driver
  • Mostly 320 kbps MP3s

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows of any settings that could explain it?
