Traktor pro and analog mixer

Traktor pro and analog mixer

Hi just wondering can i hook any analog mixer up to traktor pro?

i have tryed a few midi controllers/usbmixers but just not feeling them
so yeah will this work?
thanks

Im pretty sure this is in the wrong section to post this. But none the less you can do this.

What you need is either a traktor certified mixer or a 4 channel (at least) sound card router to the mixer.

As long as your soundcard has at least 2 outputs you can use any analogue mixer with Traktor. AFAIK you will lose out on the internal EQ and FX if you do this…

If you’re talking Traktor scratch I think things are a little more complicated and you need an approved mixer, I haven’t looked into this direction to be hoenst…

If you’re using Traktor Scratch you need the Audio8DJ, or the Audio4, and any mixer. If you do not want to use those interfaces with Traktor Scratch you need an Traktor Scratch Approved Mixer, which you can find on the Native Instruments website.

If you just want an external mixer then yes, you can do this. You just set the Mixer to External in your settings, and route your decks to the appropriate outs on your sound card (need at least two)

QFT!

Qft?

ahh yes sorry was wrong part of the fourm
but thanks very much for the fast help
and look forward to posting and reading more

ooooh… awesome!

I dont think it has to be traktor scratch certified. Iv seen an xone 4d hooked up to traktor scratch using its internal sound card with 2 cdj-1000’s. I presume as long as the sound card has 2 outputs you should be laffin.

The mixer does not need to be traktor scratch certified if you have the Audio 8DJ

Don’t count me on it, iv never used timecode

First, you can embed that, you put the backslash outside of the brackets (which I almost fixed but you’re watching this thread too )

Second, I can’t watch youtube at work so what’s it saying?

It’s basically showing you your mixer doesn’t need to be traktor scratch verified to use traktor scratch, but iv just re-read the original question and it’s not regarding timecode :expressionless:

Thanks for the info on embeding youtube vids, ill remember that!

Its showing traktor pro (scratch), with xone 4D, 2x CDJ1000, timecode cd’s and no audio8.
Ohh and it works fine:stuck_out_tongue:

just embedded it for you

That’s what I’m saying. Your mixer does not have to be traktor scratch certified to use timecode, you just need the Audio8. If you use a traktor scratch certified mixer then you don’t need the audio8 interface

Thanks man! I think it was a little off the mark anyway :open_mouth:

it’s all good. More information is always better.

If you want to use an analog mixer next to your MIDI controller, you don’t need an Audio8 or Audio4.
Just a nice mixer and a soundcard with enough outs will do.

i got ripped on for not knowin that :stuck_out_tongue:
