I am getting one of these I THINK since they seem to be the best controllers out there on the market, I was into taking the step to CDJ’s but I seriously feel like that is just a step back in technology.
I am really struggling and thinking about weather or not to be a CDJ or to use a controller.
Please leave ANY kind of opinion in this matter, TS4 CDJ’s or the Denon DN-MC6000. Maybe you know one that is even better.
I am very used to the Traktor Pro software so I am kinda leaning towards TS4. I have to say that the Denon DN-MC6000 looks more professional. I really don’t want to lose out on gigs if I have a controller, so therefore I am also into maybe just becoming a CDJ, it feels more professional, but really it’s a lot easier with controllers. If only those friggin “sync buttons” could be removed I think we’d all get along better and controllers wouldn’t be considered as cheating.
I really want to get something new and more professional than the controller I have right now.
And all I think about is which one to go with (or CDJ’s)
Currently I just use my VCI-100 and then i DJ with a friend who has two V7s and a DDM4000, so sometimes we just use his equipment if we can’t chug too much.
But if you want to use CDJ’s with timecoding then S4 is best bet, but if you get the MC6000, you can buy another sound card (like audio 4) and use it as simply a mixer, which would probably operate a bit better cause you can function if your computer crashes.
They both have integrated sound cards, the MC just can’t timecode. AKA its the equivilant of the Audio 2 (with more outputs) and the S4 has the equivilant of the audio 4 soundcard.
The reason not to just get a mixer is because that forces you to chug around cdj’s or turntables when you could just bring the MC6 or S4 if you don’t want to bring a lot of weight around.
EDIT: and cause then you can use the MC for now and upgrade without buying an entirely different mixer in the future if you don’t have that money to spend now.
If i had $2000 i’d probably get two DNS3700’s and a DDM4000 and eventually upgrade the DDM to a pioneer mixer. That way the DNS3700’s are both midi soundcards and CDJ’s…its like my dream setup
If I just might ask, one last query. Why should I get that set? With the CDJ’s and that mixer? What’s the pro’s, since it obviously has shit loads of em’ if it’s your dream set up!
That guy is sick! great show, I am not a scratcher though, this doesn’t tell me anything about it besides from the part that he is kicking ass at it, haha. I’m guessing you scratch?
They say in a month or so, but don’t think so, expensiffff as “EFF”, but really looks like a keeper.
So confused on what to get. Pretty big choice too since I will stick with this for a few years.
Considering the integrated soundcard potential to add a single CDJ type and/or a TT and the fact you get the Pro S4 software I think the S4 is hard to beat. They both have a professional look to them. The MC looks more cluttered and I dislike the monitor/master volume/mix knobs that stick out of the front of the MC, they don’t look like the click lock in, haven’t had my hands on one yet. In regards to the losing gigs thing I’ll personally be telling promoters to eat shit or flat out lying to them. What do by care if the music sounds good and the people are dancing? To me it should be way more about what you playing then how your playing it.
