traktor scratch problem

Hi Folks,
Recently updated from traktor pro to traktor scratch pro,
Been online done the updates but have a major problem
Im using it in internal mode with an kontrol x1
I have one deck playing and load the next track, track appears in the deck but takes around 30 to 40 seconds before it will fully load and play[the tracks are already analised].
Anyone help?
Never had this problem with pro, contacted ni but their server is down sent email to tech support but will have to wait awail for the reply
Thanks Tony

What are your system specs?
Are you using the Audio 8?

Will have a look for pc spec. yes using audio 8
What I cant understand is that it worked great with pro, since moving to tsp and doing the update this problem has occured and im using it without timecode!
Does tsp require more processing power than tp?

Not if you’re not using timecode, no.
And even then, not that much more.

computer toshiba equium a200
intel pentium dual cpu t2310 1.46 ghz
speed 1463 ghz
widows xp
2 gig ram
And traktor pro worked fine on it its just tsp giving the headaches

Thats a very low spec laptop mate. 1.4ghz is not really enough for TSP.

However, you had TPRO running fine so…
What version of TPRO did you run?

Also what soundcard did you use before TSP. Did you still use the Audio 8 or did you get that with the TSP upgrade..?

TP was the version before the last update they release which I didnt update to and was
working with a gigaport soundcard.
I did the update to tsp last wednesday it worked ok over the weekend with audio 8
Then today I have done the update to 1.27 via NIs website
and now I have this 30 to 40 sec loading issue.
Is my pc below min spec for tsp?
If so any workround for the timebeing till I get another

Just looked up min spec for tsp and it seem that im ok acording to this I have twice as much ram as required the min spec is …
•Windows System Requirements: XP (SP2, 32 Bit)/Vista (SP1, 32 Bit, 64 Bit), Pentium IV or Athlon 1.4 GHz (SSE1), 1 GB RAM

I used a gigaport hd before. The a8 is a little more taxing on the CPU. Try TSP with the gigaport and see how it goes.

Yeah id try the Gigaport (no DVS option tho) and see if that helps.

Although the min specs are below what you have TSP really need 2.0ghz and 2 gb ram to be really good but… 30 second load time proves something is wrong i think.

Try the card and then if no better we can look at other things.

WHat doe the CPU meter do when you load a track.
I dont use PC but is there a system Monitor like activity monitor that shows your CPU load..?

1.2.7 has new drivers which should have helped not hindered.

CPU meter is fine not overloading or anything
Have noticed that if I stop both decks and load a track it loads ok but if one deck is playing and you load the other it takes up to 40 secs to load
It sounds like not enough power dosnt it!
Going to try the gigaport soon

Oh NO I plugged the gigaport in and its working perfectly.
So the issue is with the audio 8 surley it cant use that much extra processing power can it?
If this is the case gonna have to buy a new computer so half price tsp because I wanted the soundcard and the option to use timecode at some point is not such a good deal for me!

Try a different USB port.
It could be on a underpowered port

Do you have the Audio8 Settings Tool open. This will show USB Streaming Errors.

Hey dude.

You tried setting up a different user account just for DJ’ing?

Thats what ive done on my Toshiba and it runs all fine.

Try it…set up a new user account and disable things you wont need like internet connections, webcam, anti virus etc.

as in “MILFs”?

Yeah thanks its already only used for djing no internet no anti virus no background programes or word processing printers or anything.
The weird thing is that now I have put the gigaport back on instead of audio 8 it works like a dream.
But I am confused how can the audio 8 use so much processing power that it makes loading very slow just dont understand at all

Hmmm are you sure there isnt maybe a different driver you need to use to match scratch pro with the audio 8?

Seems like a problem with the software working with your hardware, not your laptop…

@ Tony , please file a Support Ticket over at NI. AS DJew says drivers issues are usually a big problem and as your laptop is skating on thin ice they might be able to suggest one of the older drivers.

I have been back and forth with NI s tech support they are being very helpfull
As it stands they had me do a latency check
With the gigaport the system passed with the audio 8 it failed.
Its now obviously an audio 8 isssue
So I have just sent the ball back over onto their side of the net and am waiting for a reply

Tony Im a Moderator of the NI forum, look me up.
PM me the Ticket Number over at NI mate and ill have a look into it and we can try get a better answer.
