TRAKTOR: Setting Load, fade in & fade out markers Cue (not Hotcue) command?
Hi, i wonder if there is a command where we can set Load, fade in & fade out markers without using any Hotcue slot just by pressing a button on the keyboard.
Add In > Track Deck > Cue > Cue Type Selector
REALLY?!? I didn’t think This could be done???
Sure can. Think that was added in 2.6.x
There was also the “Cue Type” modifier. But that one was removed later on…
This is not what i want, what i want to do is for example when i have a track cued at the 1st Beat:
1+2= With one key for example the V key
Add In > Deck Common > Cue. Map both Cue and Cue Type to the same button
Use invert button option on Cue Type command.
This is Cueing(Stoping) the track.
What i want i to add a Cue (I don’t want to waste any of the 8 hotcue slots for markers,as i know we can set more than 32 Cues) and transform it immediately to a Load Marker
So - did we come to a consensus on whether or not this is possible??? Because, I’d love to be able to map buttons on my laptop keyboard to do:
L = Set a Cuepoint (NOT a hotcue - cuepoint 9, for example) and set to cue type LOAD
I = Set a Cuepoint (NOT a hotcue - cuepoint 10, for example) and set to cue type Fade In
O = Set a Cuepoint (NOT a hotcue - cuepoint 1, for example) and set to cue type Fade Out
I’ve asked this before:
Inside Traktor you only have the “Store as Next Hotcue” function, which will use the next available slot. It’s possible to do it without using up the first 8 slots, but it’s tedious:
And even then Traktor will happily renumber your hotcues when you use the “Store as Next Hotcue” function later on.
Edit: actually, I imagine it would be possible to just store your Fade In, Fade Out and Load markers as regular hotcues inside Traktor, and then use a text replacement program to search for cues with type 1, 2 or 3 and change the hotcue number to -1.
I found a middle solution for now
V is for Load marker
N for Fade In Marker
m for Fade out Marker.
Also am using the B button to set HotCue 1 as a 32beat loop for intros.
Sorry I didn’t realize what your’e trying to achieve exactly. I tested a couple of settings and this looks like it works:
With all 8 cues assigned:
This assumes that you have used all the hotcues slots.
What i want is to be able to use a cue point whenever i want, for example when am setting the load marker i don’t use any of the hotcue slots because i’m setting it at the begging of the track.
I’ve tried many different commands but so far the only workaround i was able to find is what i posted above.
Since you’re usually setting load marker at the beginning of the track this could also be a work around the issue.
-press a button to set hotcue #8
-release a button to Set hotcue#9 and Delete hotcue #8
But yeah, we need at least 16 mappable hotcues NI!
You could also set a modifier and make a prep tool button with three incremental states for load, fade-in and fade-out markers.
You still wouldn’t be able to set hotcue 9 if you have unused slots before hotcue 8. Beatgrid markers are the only cues that can be excluded from being stored as hotcues by unchecking “Store Beatmarker as Hotcue”, so rosgr100’s keyboard mapping may be the best solution.
Like I said the press of the button is setting and storing hotcue #8. Magic happens when you release the button.
Edit:
I take it back because I didn’t test it out. I forgot that you need all 8 cues assigned before you can add more ![]()
