Traktor stops working

Traktor stops working

My traktor pro stops sudenly stops working, it usualy happens when I set a track on deck C. I have a dell ispirion 9400, vci 100, nanoåpad and oxygen 8. Nanopad and oxygen I mapped my self. anyone else had this problem?

I think you need to do a search for traktor, dell and dpc latency checker.. its a known issue with some dell machines.

Or.. it could be the famous VCI-100 midi out bug. Try disabling midi out in traktor preferences. You’ll lose LED lights, but you might gain stability.

It seams that the program stops working when i press the “deck A/C” or “deck B/D” button? anyone else had this problem? It does it in all the TSI’s where i combined vci, nanopad and oxygen, but not in the once where I only use the VCI…

That could be a mapping error/conflict then, where you have multiple midi channels.

my vci is set to channel 1, nano to 2 and oxygen to 3?

How have you merged the tsi files to use all the controllers at the same time ?

Or did you hand edit the mapping yourself ?

I merged it with traktortools, alot of merging over merged tsi’s

edit: it does it on all the tsi’s, also the djtt 2.3 as a stand-alone and the older djtt 2.2.8.

I just reinstalled the program and it doesn’t seam to make any diffrence other than change all my “effect select’s” to diffrent effects. I am soon about to hurt some kittens or something, it fucking worked last week.

(sorry for the whining, cursing and treats to small cats)

Treats to small cats are fine, but no killing.

Sorry, i’ve got no input, i have no VCI :disappointed:

its the traktor merging program thats caused this.

damn it.. what to do? download the djtt tsi again, and map the rest of the gear by hand?

It wasn’t the tsi merging, I download the djtt tsi again after reinstaling and the same happend. The Deck a/c button lights red, I pressed it once and it still lights red, when pressed secondly it turns green and a windows message pops up saying: traktor stoped working. midi out is not activated for the vci.

:disappointed: :disappointed: :disappointed:

Its very hard to say without looking in detail at the mapping, but my first thought was that you’d merged several devices midi maps over each other and had a note/cc conflict somewhere.

I not really a masta geek on this but I guess this could maybe help ya pinpoint the prob.
Use some sort of app (midi monitor for MAC is freeware) to tell ya exactly what message is sent when pressing the problematic button… from what I could understand its all to do with just one button that sets off yer traktor, right …

reset all mapping … import only the VCI mapping … check if it still causes problems.

If so list all messages that use the same midi cc (note/etc…).. maybe this will help you understand what happens…

Maybe use some other app that can convert this cc message into a diferent one thus maybe removing possible conflicts with other controllers…

In the old days if you sent lots of midi messages I would choke de device’s Midi Buffer rendering it unresponsive for a short while… other times note would get stuck (with the buffer full the synth, for instance, would receive a note ON but note the note OFF, so it would play endlessly)

maybe there is something along these lines … Modifiers are preatty messy aswell so this would be my first gess.

Sorry if this give’s you no solutions or help!

Thanks for the help everyone, I solved the problem by making a new account on my notebook. When I use traktor in this there is no problems. In the future i will be more careful when merging and might format my computer soon as well.

Sorry for the misinformation of solving the problem. IT DIDN’T SOLVE. And now I formated my computer that didn’t help at all. I tried useing the djtt 2.8 TSI and the 2.3 TSI and the same happend, without my nanopad or oxygen plugged in, still crashed. I’m crying myself to sleep every night at the moment. Aren’t there anyone that had this problem and solved it? Windows pops up with a message saying “Traktor stopped working…” both when pressing the deck a/c and deck b/d buttons and turning the deck c/d knob in the right corner.

:disappointed:
