Traktor with DDJ SX and MF Twister

Not sure if I’m posting to the right thread but I’ll try. I’m newish here.

So I have a DDJ-SX that I use with serato but I wanted to give the MF twister a try with traktor so I got traktor and downloaded the mappings (I think I got two but I use viper) and I use the MF on deck C. I want to be able to simply start traktor, plug in the controllers and start mixing, but I haven’t been able to do this. Each time, it takes a bunch of work reinstalling the mappings and even then sometimes they will not actually control the software-either controller.

I’m not familiar with traktor so it might just be me. I’ve set mixing to internal, midi clock on, input and output for each mapping to their respective controller. It does occasionally work but I haven’t found a pattern. Surely someone has used this setup before and gotten it to work?

I’ve also got a small routing question worked in here: With serato, I route through master out on my SX but in traktor, that doesn’t work whether or not mixing is internal or external. I have to route through my computer to the speakers. My cue functions on the SX and the headphones aren’t working either. Do I need a soundcard for this? I thought I already had a built in one for the SX.

Before closing, Traktor should save all changes in the Traktor Settings TSI so it looks like you might have some issue on Traktor side. Have you try full reinstall?

Doesn’t seem to change anything. perhaps a mistake I made when importing mappings or some setting I’m overlooking?

If the mapping worked correctly at some point than it isn’t problem with importing.

  1. Do you have a same problem if you install only the Twister mapping?
  2. Which Twister mapping is it?
  3. Is your SX set to Traktor mode?

Once you get used to Traktor, you wont go back to Serato!
