tutorials for NI Massive

i really felt in love with the synth lately so i want to learn how to create sounds with it from the scratch. theres so many functions that i dont understand.

can you recommend videos, websites or even books on this topic? either english or german.

also i would like to know where theres a good source for presets. i am mainly looking for wobbly basslines and lead synths.

Check out youtube. Dubspot, and a couple other people over there have great tutorials with massive (mostly for dubstep wobble, but you can take what you learn and apply it to dnb).

MASSIVE TUTORIALS ON YOUTUBE

of course i have checked youtube and learned something but it wasnt really that satisfying. ain’t there a better source to learn the program in and out?

hate to hijack the thread, but does anyone know where to find an actual MANUAL for massive?

The Manual is part of the installation when you install Massive.
its housed in the Applications/Program Files > Massive Folder

heres some good ones that cover most of the basics mostly dubstep sounds though

wow those are great. really what i was looking for. thanks alot!

Thanks for the great link!

deadmau5 VC Bass Massive Patch

deadmau5 Hold Me Massive Patch

are those presets?

yeah just presets dmau5 made

the macro controls are all you need to use to warp the sounds into different sound scapes

Isn’t that cheating?

no not really.
You could use those presets and tweek them to your liking.
A stepping stone persay.
If it were cheating then most the top songs out there cheat their ass’ off because they have just used the packaged presets in many of their synths

agreed.. lots of produces use presets as their start point then tweak to what they want/hearin in their head…

to learning massive.. it is a huge synth! lots of things to play with.. i think you should probably learn sound design in general then you’ll understand mostly all the functions massive has.. really get a feel for the different sound waves, sine, square, tri and so on are the good ones! tryin mixing them up.. the cut offs, resos, filters, velocitys, tempos.. jsut set up your midi device into it and start playin with them.. see, feel, hear what each one does.. repeat repeat repeat
