UDG Producer bag vs the rest of the carry case world… (with Oxygen 8 in mind?)

Eyup,

I know this is a really old classic request, but I’m really looking at getting a new bag for my kit and wondering if any of you guys, from experience, can help me decide.

Obviously, looking quite hard at the UDG producer, as it seems to be available in a couple of places! My only concern is that I now play out a lot with an Oxygen 8, does anyone reckon it would fit in?

Futurewise, i’m thinking what I want to be carrying regularly on the road. At the moment, I have my stuff spread out over a number of bags, and have even sometimes had to take stuff to a venue in a holdall, or once even in a plastic shopping bag! (in addition obviously..) that was kinda embarrassing…

What’s currently in my bag? (in no particular order)
Macbook 13" White
Audio 8 DJ Soundcard
Oxygen 8 v2
standard fuckload of cables (Multicore, RCA, USB etc)
Big SLR camera (Nikon D3000)
Power adaptor (x2)
CD Wallet with mix CDs and Traktor timecode CDs
Deodorant
Headphones
Business Cards
Promo CDs
Torch
Pens/Pad

and for longer trips..
Gateway PC laptop (with production software for editting and podcasting while travelling)
USB compressor mic (w/ pop shield)
and ideally i’d like to carry the VCI 100 too, just in case (and if i’m feeling the variation…)

If there was one mammoth bag which could pretty much carry the lot, that would be awesome. But I don’t think that’s possible…

If I’m honest, the most bulky and important things for a main compartment are the 2 laptops, and one controller. Most of my gigs involve train journeys, and are a fair whack away, so it’s very much a durable touring type bag I need…

Would the UDG do this job?!

I have the Namba big Producers bag

It holds my huge laptop, VCI-100, headphones, power strip, 6 USB cables, MIDI Fighter, Audio8, Uberstand, huge brick of a power cable and still has TONS of room that I don’t use but could for the smaller things (promo CDs/business cards/torch/pens/pads/CD wallet/etc.)

It could probably carry two average laptops and the VCI-100 in the “gear” compartment. But if you’re curious you can always email them. They get back fast.

mate, that namba bag is the shit! I’m just wondering the best way to get it in the UK…

EDIT: /the only way to get it in the UK! :S

Email them and ask. I’m sure they’ll get back to you within a day or two. They did for me.

sweet man, cheers

Chilly:
Macbook Pro 15"
VCI-100se
Maschine
Audio 2 or 4 or 8 or Saffire LE
Headphones
Gorilla Light
UberStand
2 Aurelex MoPad pads
External HD (3.5")
Powered USB hub
Tons of backup cables

How do you think the Namba will hold up?

I currently am using the GigSkinz Serato bag (new style). I kinda hate it.

Deodorant such a must
