Will keep this short and sweet - looking to trade my Xone DB4 for a DJM 900. I will be doing this with regret, as I love my DB4 dearly, however my style of mixing is focussed on Rekordbox and pro DJ link and I feel as though Iām going to get more technical use out of a 900 than a DB4.
Mixer is in A+ condition, works flawlessly and no visual marks anywhere. All knobs intact and spare knobs and carry bag are included with it.
Will only settle for a 900 in a similar condition!
Iād like to make this trade. I can send to a friend/fellow Dj/Producer in London and make the trade I think. Otherwise, maybe there is an escrow service we can use. I can call you via Google phone or Skype. I jsut PMād you. Hope to hear from you. Thanks
Am I right in thinking that you are based in America? If so, how will this work with power adapters etc.? Will your friend in London have a UK DJM 900 available for trade? Not at all willing to do anything that isnāt face-to-face since this is such a high value item, hope you understand.
I believe both can power switch. Can you take photos of the power supply? I am based in America, and yes, I could have someone meet you with it. Did you receive my PM? Thanks again.
Out of interest, what benefit will having a DJM900 make over the DB4 in regards to Rekordbox?
Iāve never heard someone say something like that before.
Itās a bit sad 'cause the DB4 sounds so crisp compared to the 900 but thereās a couple of bits of functionality missing from the Xone that I will make a lot of use out of on a 900.
In response to your question, the 900 takes ethernet in, if you hook it up to a network switch with some Pro DJ Link CDJs you can warp the 900ās effects to the individual beats of the tracks playing on the CDJs. So like, say you are playing something at 120 BPM with the echo effect on, on an 850/800/750/700 if you pitched the track down to 80 BPM the echo would freak out and sound shit for a while 'cause it works on an auto-detecting beat clock, whereas the 900 actually quantizes the effects as youād get on Traktor or Serato.
Also the main feature on the 900 that I donāt have on the DB4 that I would like for my particular live/DJ hybrid setup is the 900s ability to auto-detect BPM coming in, then send that auto-BPM via midi-clock to a slave device, what that means is I could midi-sync my TR8 to my CDJ 2000s without needing a laptop (I can beatmatch the TR8 by ear but there is already so many other parameters on it to be worrying about, donāt want to have to beatmatch it too).
JJD: Iām jsut going to throw this out there. I just got a DB4 and sold my 900. I can say this already, I will never go back to a Pioneer again. I bought it originally because it is the āstandardā. I was never thrilled with the sound, or to be honest, the operation. In addition, I run QSC monitors in my studio, so have great sound to compare and I can tell you, the 900 sounds really sterile compared to the DB4. To explain it a little better, I would say the 900 sounds shrill and a little tinny, where the DB sounds warm. Because of that warmth, I can crank the sound louder and it is not fatiguing on the ears like the 900 was. Not to mention the effects are lightyears ahead on the XONE. Iām not quite sure how A&H does it in a digital mixer, but the difference is actually a little startling.
I hope Iām not raining on anyones parade, but if it were me, I would never trade the Xone for a Pioneer again. NEVER.
