Okay, so my search for a mixer has been going on for about 2 weeks now, and through the opinions of the DJTT community and a couple of local DJ’s, I get pretty similar answers for what a good starting mixer is.
My real question here is: Are there any mixers that may have flown under the radar they I should look into?
American Audio QD5MK2. They’re very solid scratch mixers with very good faders. It honestly depends if you want a simple two channel battle mixer or a larger four channel club mixer.
I’ve got like $800 to my name, not that I WANT to spend it all on a mixer. But I’ve been looking into everything from the Xone:22 to the Vestax PMC05 Pro.
I’ve seen them range from $250 upwards. The only thing I could see that would be a better investment would be possibly if you wanted Serato built in with like a 57SL. Those have been coming down in price drastically lately.
If I lived in the US I would buy SO much second hand gear and mod the fuck out of it. I wouldn’t even give a fuck if I screw up since it costs pretty much nothing.
In GB they seem to have the highest prices I’ve seen so far. I’m from Germany and thought about importing gear several times. I always realized that imports from the UK are far more expensive than actually buying it where I live. Importing gear from the US is quite hard (–>high tariffs, shipping…)
Btw: Sorry for being a bit off topic. We’ll get back to it.
Im hopefully going over the end of this year to visit family, if i do im taking a shitload of money and getting a cheap 57SL or 61 and bring it back myself
