so i was wondering, i like to mix hardcore/happy hardcore and electro house.. i can keep up with electro house songs, whats new and whats not. but does ANYONE have any suggestions of somewhere to subscribe to to know the latest hardcore/happy hardcore songs and mixes coming out? please help
it shouldnt matter.
thats the point of this place. helping out. even it its ‘rtfm’ or ‘use search’
regarding the OP
… i have no clue. i suppose the best way to get into things is to look at some kinda old stuff first.
somehow thats how i got into both DnB and Dubstep.
i would look up dj cotts on youtube. i dont know if he does tracklists for his mixes anymore, but i knonw he did around the time i lost track of my youtube subscriptions (around last fall)
yeah i watch dj cotts and dj ravine, and they do but its only those few songs they use, then i have to do lots of searching for the same song and the artist and then see what all is out aand whats the most recent and then track down somewhere to buy it. this beatport looks promising. can someone tell me the quality of the songs you can purchase there?
DJ Cotts ones posted a video called “Where do hardcore DJs buy their music” where he lists a few websites if I remember right.
Also, you could check out happyhardcore.com. Some of the broadcasts have tracklists and I think there was a forum too.
Digitally Imported have a HH channel. Also, subscribe to some HH and Hardstyle groups on Facebook/Soundcloud/Mixcloud/etc. Over time you get a bigger picture of the music and should end up finding stuff earlier. Follow producers/labels on Twitter. Don’t just rely on online shops to find stuff. You end up buying the same things as everyone else. Most importantly: LISTEN TO LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF MUSIC.
As a fellow HHC/Uk Hardcore DJ, I think I may be able to help a little
I get most of my stuff from either Juno Download, IMO Download, Trackitdown, Raw Elements (direct from the label), Next generation (direct from the label), Serioussounds.net..
As for keeping up with new stuff, as was mentioned: Dj Cotts, Dj Ravine, Dj Sc@r (hot as hell btw ) all have youtube channels.. I also signed up for new release alerts through the various shops that offer them…
A few new releases I’m loving are:
SC@R & CHAOS - Tell Me The Way (Recycled UK)
S3RL Feat. JessKah - It Went (Relentless Digital)
Andy Vilo - Want Me Tonight (Make Believe Records UK)
Andy Dee vs Sc@r - Give It Up (Make Believe Records UK)
Brisk & DJ Fracus - Holding On (Blatant Beats)
I noticed something that might help a little… You talked about tracking the artists down, but after that when you find a song you like look into the labels, In most dance music labels generally have a “sound” that they try to sign/put out. For example, Hospital Records (used to) = Liquid Funk, TCR = NuSkool Breaks, etc etc…you might then find other artists that you like and then find other labels pretty soon you are spending every last dollar you can spare on happy hardcore tracks and the world gets a little more day glo (which may or may not be a bad thing) but check out some nukleuz stuff they have a compilation on beatport of hardcore classics that you might be interested in
Other thing that I read about recently… If you find a remixed track you like… Search for more from the REMIX ARTIST… They also tend to have their own unique sound, so you can certainly find more you like…
