Use RAMdisk for Ableton Live 9 and Traktor Pro

Hey

Is there anyway I can use a RAMdisk for Ableton Live 9 or Traktor Pro? I wanna make use of the RAMdisk and also avoid unnecessary writes on my SSD drive.

Also, can I configure NI S4 to work with Ableton? If yes, can someone share the mapping.

Traktor does not make a particularly large number of disk writes AFAIK. And the main writes it makes are to music files. How are you going to keep your music library within RAM?

I wouldn’t worry about writing to SSDs too much, but there are tweaks you can make to Windows for example that cut down on disk usage.

In the settings select the soundcard of the S4 in the audio device drop down menu (or something lol)
Command+M or Control+M (mac and pc, respectively) will activate midi mapping mode. Select the paramater you want to adjust, e. g. track volume fader and then move the volume fader on the S4, bam it’s mapped :slight_smile:

Don’t forget to put the S4 into midi mode (shift+browse)
