VCI 400 EGE and windows 8

Hi

I have recently purchased a Vestax VCI 400 EGE. I cant get it to work at all with any dj software including Traktor on Windows 8. I have installed the Vestax ASIO driver but as soon as I select the VCI 400 in Traktor it crashes traktor and needs to close in. With the controller switched off you can select it no problem. Could the soundcard be faulty?

Tried it on a Windows vista laptop and tractor doesn’t even recognise it’s connected. Select vci 400 in tractor under audio setup and it says not connected.

by any chance are you using it with a Sony Vaio series laptop?
