VCI Jog Wheel bass exposure fixes

The buttons are reacting or the jog wheels?

Ean has a blog post on this. A good solution is to put down a layer of foam between your VCI and the table, or a towel, or anything. There are a few threads on this already.

Also, there are road ready cases for the VCI that might help, but that’s more for the vibrations on the table that you have your VCI on. I’ve never heard of the buttons going off.

Hey Fran! Greetings from Brizzle.

I’ve had this problem too though only with the jogwheel, I just used a jumper/hoodie.

Yeah, this happens with my FMDJ9303 as well. Bass vibrations hate MIDI controllers.

another solution is to disable the pitch bend in the Tsi , if the weels r spinning away.

Hello dude hows tricks was you at glasto saw anil proper laugh

Yeah i tried the jumper trick but didnt make a lot of diffrence was a pretty heavy rig i was playing on and not alot of space to put my kit. yeah my jog wheeel was vibrating and was knocking off the sync function . but also was making a few random buttons activate effects etc. was a bit of a pain. Will have to give it another go and try it with some foam like we use for 1210s see if that helps.

ta for all the replys

Foam

Foam is your friend.

Get a 1 inch thick piece of firmish foam (just firm enough that it doesn’t sag when the VCI is on top of it), and jobs a good un.

Thats why those 1210’s are on massive bits of foam either side of your booth  Jumpy jumpy needles.

thanks will give it try

merged thread, please read FAQ!

The clud i dj at has it’s booth up on the second floor, with the subs on the first floor and the mains hanging from the beams.

I never have any bass come up to the booth, plus with the added bonus of plexi glass to block any if it does.

I do put the VIC on top of piece of sound absorbing tile which is cheap, and I leave it in the booth when I’m done for the next person.

I have had this issue with my line faders. It’s not a matter of excess bass; I’m just a bedroom hobbiest. But if I bump my desk even slightly it can send my line faders to zero, muting my audio. To be clear, the actual faders don’t move, but the VCI 100 is sending CC midi signals to Traktor saying, “turn down the volume to zero!” I emailed Vestax about it but no answer yet. Anyone else had this issue?

I Love Silicone (Eliminating Bass Vibrations)

Hey guys.

I’ve been searching the forum to see if anyone raised this topic, but either nobody didn’t, or I’m a search dyslectic. Either way, here goes.

I was brainstorming about how to eliminate vibrations from my dear VCI 100 (legendary pitchbend disruption from jog wheels) and prevent my laptop from vibrating to a crash.

The easy solution was foam, but it’s big and it takes up space in my already full backpack.

Enter silicone.

I made silicone pillows from regular hardware store silicone for bathroom sealing and such.

I tried it out last night at a club where I have 4 bass boxes bigger than me, lined up right in front of the DJ booth. It worked flawlessly. I didn’t get one single pitch bend shake during my whole set.

Has anyone done this? I’d be more than happy to write a how to, for anyone who wants. But it’s not really brain surgery.

Anyway, from now on it’s all good vibrations

“Nobody Didnt” wouldnt that mean everyone did…

Sorry, i just thought it was funny, I shouldnt poke fun, if you want to see true dislexic talents, check out any number of my posts.. although im not to sure about my Dyslectic qualitys…

Great idea BTW, I too was searching for some foam the other week, but maybe your idea will prove usefull.
