VERY small speakers required…

I need some TINY speakers for my set-up.

I think (shock!) I might have to go with some desktop computer type powered speakers…

Any suggestions for some that won’t break the bank, but that sound half decent? They don’t have to be especially loud.

I don’t have a suggestion, but I always thought it could be good to have a range of micro-PA systems. Like, basically, consumer sized versions of the PAs you get for performance. Lower powered, but with the same type of rack mount amplifiers, connectors, speaker designs. Maybe have them similar sized to studio monitors, with optional subs.

Something Like this? Creative GigaWorks T20 Series II

Or the bigger brother Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II

How tiny ? … How Cheap ?

I got these Edifier R1600T Monitors and they really pack a punch and sound absolutely fantastic.

There is also the IK multimedia iLoud ..Great reviews but a little pricey

I’m still on the lookout for the loudest/smallest (breaking the rules of physics) monitor to take in to venues with me.

What’s tiny, but kicks like crazy?

If you’re looking for a tiny footprint something like this seems like a good monitor speaker

Had a pair of Altos that both died with the same issue within a couple of months of each other. They’d been stored indoors for a couple of years (at the DJWORX studio), used rarely. Took them out for two gigs and they died. Apparently a common fault with the built in amplifier.

How tiny and what for?

The klipsch pro media 2.1 setup sounds good for $150…not particularly detailed but better than a lot of computer speakers. I think they make something similar without the sub.

Small enough to fit in a window sill, and for DJ’ing.

Guess these won’t cut it then

Look into the Klipsch. If you have the space to put the sub under the table, you can tape the metal stands to the windowsill. They’re pretty light and sound about as good as anything for that price/size.

won’t get much better than this at this size and price

Hadn’t thought about that. Are those things stereo? I couldn’t survive without flaaaaange in my transitions…

Those Klipsh are the perfect size - but I don’t have space for the sub…

These are what I’m using now. They used to sound fine, but since trying them again they just sound terrible. Maybe I just need to do a little tweaking…

Only using 2 of the 4 speakers + the sub…

EDIT: These are at least 18 years old!

Maybe a bluetooth portable speaker like JBL flip or Denon Envaya. They have line input also.

I’ve got a Bose bluetooth speaker that also has a line level input. I tried using it for DJing at home & it sounds great,

…but it’s actually no use for DJing, as the on-board processing adds a delay.

If you can stretch the budget, these are pretty damn good.

Same goes for Sonos and other types of wireless speakers with added processing.
